We need to start setting our sights on overtaking Auburn

Let's face it, we are a long way behind bama and LSU now and Arkansas is pretty far ahead as well; I think our next baby step as a program needs to be overtaking auburn. They are in some turmoil right now and IMO have a subpar head coach. We need to beat them very badly at home this year (we needed to the past 2 years as well) and then finish ahead of them in the division. Only then can we start setting our sights higher. Let's keep our expectations reasonable and continue to make progress this upcoming season. Try not to set your expectatibs at a 9 or 10 win season but instead let's take a realistic look at this, see how difficult it is to build a championship program and get ahead of auburn. It's possible

But I am a little concerned about the qb position next year. If they both get injured, we'll be in huge trouble, with or without liggins

It pisses me off that we should have beat them the last 2 years in a row.

It takes agonizing time for a program to develop a winning attitude - that thing inside that has players expecting to win instead of wondering what's going to happen to 17 it up.

Auburn has a **** ton of talent, and they proved that during their bowl game. I realize it's easy to believe that we are their equals, but they have more talent overall than we do and it will be very difficult to beat them next year. I honestly believe we had a better chance this year ( past season)than next. However,"coach chizz"made some dumb moves over the course of last season, the biggest blunder was not starting Trotter the entire year and allowing his best running back to transfer at the end of the season. But I agree that beating Auburn is a lot more realistic goal than beating LSU and Bama.

Listen, you can talk about their talent/resources advantage all you want, but if we are EVER going to take that next step, it has to start against Auburn - this year. It's a homegame and I agree with others that Auburn's got some internal issues. WE NEED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE. We shoulda had 'em the last two years. With the schedule we have, we could be 7-0 going into the Bama game, but in order for that to happen, we have to be Auburn. It's time we stepped up.
