Unless this new crop of transfers really delivers, I'd have to agree with them.

@ USM, Alcorn, NIU.

No reason to believe we can win ASU, Tenn, @ aTm, @ Florida, Texas, @ Arkansas, UGA, @ Mizz, or OM.

Sounds about right. I think Tennessee and Mississippi are a little high. But Mississippi is bringing in another banner transfer class, so maybe 9 wins isn't that high after all.

I was just perusing the schedule and holy cow, it is going to be BRUTAL if Lebby drops the opener to Southern
If he drops the opener, it could easily be 1-11. Next year's schedule may be even tougher than this year's was.

Northern Illinois beat ND and MAC teams are always tough, Southern Miss will be pretty good next year. Spending a lot of NIL money to go 3-9. Should be more competitive though.

I'm not usually doom and gloom, I try to take a wait and see approach to things. But, 17ing hell it looks like another miserable football season. Surely they can slip up and beat someone in conference. Who? No 17ing idea.

2026 schedule is key. We will likely be at 20 straight SEC losses. 23 is the all time record. If we open with Alabama, LSU and South Carolina, we could make histiry.
I thought Sewanee lost something like 35 straight. Surely Vandy has lost more than 20 straight.

With our schedule, if we win 4 games, I think Lebby deserves another year, if we are playing better.

Agree and he'll probably get it anyway if for nothing else than we need to show future potential coaches that we gave him a fair shot to show improvement. If Lebby doesn't work out in the end, I would go ALL-IN to get Kenny Dillingham. I said this a year ago too even before he took his team to the Playoffs. He to me, looks like the next Nick Saban.

A three-win season should do it for the OU experiment. I don't see how Lebby survives, and Selman will need his *** kicked.

I don't think we could pull Kenny Dillingham at this point. Even if we could outbid Arizona State (which, I don't think we can), he's got his program rolling and his next few teams will be in a better position to get to the CFP than we will be for at least the next decade. The opportunity to coach in the SEC isn't the draw it was 12 months ago.

Id imagine this job is seen as a really tough one that carries some risk.

We are in a precarious position. Lebby simply HAS to show tangible progress, be more competitive in games, and find a way to win a couple SEC games. Mullen’s first year ended at 5-7. But we won some SEC games and were competitive in others. You could see the progress. Two straight 0-8 seasons and even if he was dealt a bad hand, hard to see how Lebby survives a fan base that would’ve all but given up on showing up to the stadium on Saturdays.

I can see our stadium being 50% Texas, Tenn and GA on those Saturdays.

Lebby aint going anywhere. Even when we only win 3 maybe 4 next year. And he did make changes in his staff. 3 changes. Not sure any of them are gonna be improvements but he must think so. I think we have a few years before he gets this ship turned around. I wasn't blown away by the portal additions. Better than we were but I would say not that much. We eill see tho. I'm sure we will hear how awesome they are playing all spring and next fall. Then have our hopes crushed by game 3

I’m sure that’s true, but I’ll say again what I’ve said before. If a job’s worse case scenario brings a $20M guaranteed buyout with it, sign me up for that risk

Me too but if you are climbing the ladder a 5-18/8-27 record over 2-3 seasons will probably kill your HC aspirations for quite a long while.

Lebby will certainly be taking advantage of our stupidity

And he will be able to be a coordinator again probably a year or two after he gets tired of counting our money

This 2025 SEC schedule is much tougher than in 2024. The Top 10 teams are at home. The games you would hope are the toss-up games are on the road.
Yes, the fans who want to play the best teams at home are stupid. I want to play the teams we have the best chance at at home.

I could see him at the barn once freeze gets canned. Dillingham was there a few years ago.

2 wins, Levee has to be fired. 3-4 wins and competitive in losses, keep him. 5 wins and he's coach of the year.

Thanks to the portal, you just never know who will be randomly good or bad. Pre-emptively declaring this schedule "harder than 2024" is silly. Every year there are going to be teams that come out of nowhere to be really good, and teams that are ranked high preseason that suck.

3 wins and you have to keep him ? Sign me up for this job
The 2025 schedule is brutal, we'll be underdogs in 9 games, likely double digit in many. If we win the ones we should and are completive in SEC play, then I think we have a decision to make . 4 wins and competitive in SEC games, keep him for sure.
