using his position to play the race card... beyond being reasonable...He was a real pain in the *** bastard! Ultimately that is why they fired him, forget the won loss record.

had taken Morgan out before Texas scored a boat load of runs against us, we wouldn't have even been there.

That still pisses me off to this day. Always will. Our best chance ever, lost out to stubborn.

defensive lineman or linebacker for Alabama in the mid 90's that yelled "HUT" causing our O lineman (Montgomery maybe?) to jump offsides when we were fourth and goal on the one. Needless to say, we didn't get in from the 6.

lost out to stupid. Polk never was a good manger. Great baseball teacher, yes, great at building a successful program, yes, managing a game- below average.

Edit to say- for all the shitting on Polk, he was the right guy for us- in 1976. Our program wouldn't be where it was without him. We had a good program when he took over, and he took it to the next level. A big reason why he would wonder why we were pissed off at just "making a regional" is because that and fielding a team that "would not embarass MSU off the field" was all that was expected of him- again in 1976.

Man, i hated that guy. He might have the record for career 3 pointers made against Mississippi State. I didn't care much for his sidekick, Kennedy Winston either.

We think just alike. The first 2 names that popped in my head when i saw the thread was Bunky Kateon and Micheal Rutledge and then I read your response. Glad to see that I wasn't the only one they pissed off daily.
