We keep losing the close games because we don't do small things very good. We walk too many, hit tooany batters, we situational hit like a little league team, we don't work counts well, we get out coached every game, and all that adds up to not being very good. Our team is only good in their own heads.

Did you intentionally break that down to look as badly-phrased as possible?

Yes, everyone is pissed about our record -- and how we keep losing games. Both of us certainly are. Especially the mind17 decisions that have been made in LITERALLY every phase -- coaching, base running, defense, hitting, pitching. It's much, MUCH more brutal to be a very good team -- see the potential constantly -- and keep losing games you KNOW you should win than to be a bad team and get blown out.

Is the sky falling? No. Is the season a failure? No. Do we need to get it going and quit doing stupid things to beat ourselves? Yes. Preferably immediately. We were 3-6 after this weekend last year -- on our way to 5-10 to start out. We're going to get hot at some point here and get rolling. Just need it to start tomorrow...

we never change our approach at the plate, when the situation calls for it.

another thing. Why in the 17 do we show **** so early, even on SAC ****s? That's highly unnecessary and decreases the chances of us catching them off guard and getting on base. Sac **** should neve be shown until just before the pitcher is about t to deliver to the plate.

I don't mind showing sacrifice early -- since your intention is to get out and if you execute it properly, it really doesn't matter when you show it. Showing early allows you the opportunity to see what the defense is giving you early as well. At some point this year, it's also going to set us up for a beautiful slash play...and they won't expect it on a scouting report because we show early every time. Show them slash a few times and then they really won't know what to expect and will have to stay home until the **** is actually laid down...

That said, I feel like we sacrifice a lot of times that (if we are dead set on ****ing) we should try a drag (on the first strike anyway) and give ourselves a chance to turn it into a base hit...
