We truly are M-State. Per Facebook, "Chad Bumphis is sick."

And no, I'm not friends with him on Facebook, a friend sent it to me in email. Hope to God it's not the swine flu and hopefully no one else is sick.</p>

which players are sick and who are they sick against?

If your team catches a flu outbreak now, it's probably about as bad of a time as you could get it. I'm still hoping our outbreak continues and gets through the majority of the team by the end of the week, so we can have it mostly behind us by the time we hit SEC play.

and I still can't decide if it means the sports gods have reversed their stance on us or if they are just setting us up for the biggest "Charlie Brown kicking a FG" moment of all time.

ETA: If the week of the Bama game, half of their team comes down with a flu, I'm really going to start to worry about how big the other shoe is that the sports gods are going to eventually drop on us.

There's no real mystery as to why your team is coming down with swine flu now and why we apparently may be beginning to come down with it. Bring 16,000 students together in one place, add one new and highly contagious disease, wait a couple of weeks. It's not rocket science.

The Billy Goat curse, the curse of the Babe, things like that. We have to have some way to explain away our ineptness that puts the blame somewhere else.

If you look around the country, you'll see we've been VERY lucky as far as injuries are concerned. So please stop this "bad things only happen to State" ********.

to it today.

Go ahead and get oit over with during an off week and their bodies can start building up the antibodies.

I hope this **** isn't a cycle from one team to the next through the whole season.

1. Catch flu. You'll know it by the fact that you'll be fine and then 6 hours later you feel like you ran a marathon while recovering from a night of heavy drinking. The fever, headache, and chills are the biggest symptoms aside from the sudden onset.
2. Get to the doctor ASAP (within 24 hours) and get some Tamiflu. The doctor can run a quick test to confirm you have the flu. Take the first dose of Tamiflu quickly.
3. Follow the dosage. Relax for 4 days.
4. You should be fine. Total downtime of 5 days.

Get the whole team sick this week. They'll probably be 100% for SELA next weekend, but even if they're not quite 100% you'll still win by 40. It'd be like your own swine flu shots even though the shot isn't ready yet.
