Is it time to bring back Hank Flick? Our current PA Announcer sucks, period. Hell, most on here probably could not even call his name (I can't). I never really cared for Flick (with his naslly voice) announcing football until he was gone... Looking back, he really was a unique contributor to our in game atmosphere. He is different and that is not a bad thing. This guy now defines generic, that is when you can hear him.

Basketball goes without saying - Flick is without a doubt one of the best I've ever heard.

I disagree that our current PA announcer sucks. But I would like to see Hank Flick back for basketball. He was a casualty of an era when MSU was changing from top to bottom. The old guard out, and the new guard in and for some reason he was part of that change.

I am for this move!!

Hank Flick made the atmosphere at both football and basketball. Face it, our atmosphere at both venues have been awful since he left.

This current guy they got to replace him is terrible!!!

I am indifferent for football as it relates to Flick but if it meant we got him back for basketball if he did football - then let's do it.

I agree with this. Basketball for sure. Football not so much, but if it takes both to get one then do it.

Seriously, I liked him for basketball but he was borderline embarrassing for football. I love Dr. Flick, one of my favorites at State, but I think too many of us have forgotten how bad he was for football games. Loved him for basketball, though. He was just better suited for that.

Can't tell if you are serious but it's a different era. No one had smartphones. I'm even on my smartphone during a game texting with a group talking about the game.

I was just thinking about how much simpler the game day environment was back then. I guess smartphones are another distraction. I check twitter for injury updates, but I can't imagine texting with a group throughout the game. I tend to just talk to the people next to me.

Bringing him back because the new guy is worse tells me that you don't realize there are more than 2 people as options.

phones aren't the problem.............

It's the misuse of the jumbotron. I long for the old school atmosphere. I think phones and a great atmosphere can coexist, but we've got to get the jumbotron under control. And now we'll have two of the damn things.

basketball maybe but hell no for football. he was terrible. Friends of mine from other schools used to joke about Hank. I did enjoy him at basketball games but that is an entirely different venue. I used to pray for Hank to be replaced at football and am thankful every home game now.

I've always thought Flick was better at football games than what we have now, but thought I was one of the few that felt that way. I always liked him a lot for football - the nasal-y voice to me was distinct and kind of professional sounding. Now we've just got a generic football PA announcer out of central casting. To those who didn't care for Flick, I guess it's better to have someone forgettable than to remember something you didn't like, which I understand. But I'd love to have him back for football. Just my $0.02.

Because many thousands of us don't want him on the mike. He sucks.

You want someone else, fine.

But anyway, go ahead start your bring him back campaign.... waste of time.

Bringing Hank back would be the right thing to do. I vote yes. And he deserves to be able to represent the school in both football and basketball.

I would like Dr. Flick back for football if he were more succinct this time, he talked more than Cristil towards the end of his tenure.

Loved him for hoops.

I always thought Flick sounded alot like the Superdome PA announcer...

Jerry Romig, I think he just retired last year. Both guys were very unique and professional.
