I can tell from the tone of the board the past few weeks to the tone of conversations with fellow die hard dawgs that this was the game we circled during the offseason as "the one". It feels similar to how the buildup to the 2009 Mule Bowl was. It may not be as personal as that game was but the stakes are the same. I wonder how different this one would feel had we managed to convert that 4th and goal aGainst the corndogs in 2009? Because the weight of "the streak" seems to be the biggest thing in our way... not Death Valley, not the night kickoff.

We want this one as badly as I can remember wanting any particular game against LSU since I've been following MSU (1998 ). Our fanbase really believes in Dak right now. His late game heroics in last year's Egg Bowl have created a Tebow-esque aura around him that our fanbase and to a certain extent the national media have fed on. Here's hoping that his legend grows tomorrow night. If Dak manages to shine in the spotlight then the ceiling for this season will have been blown sky high. Jackie's article on 24/7 touched on the power of confidence and believing that you belong at the table with the big boys. I also caught an episode of SEC Rewind this week where David Pollack spoke of how his big game against South Carolina in 2002 made him realize that he was just as good as the guys he was facing and that his confidence soared after that game. I think that we are set up for a similar platform for a Preston Smith or a Chris Jones to do the same. It's just a huge platform for the program and everyone (including LSU) recognizes this.

One this is for sure, we will know what we have by the end of the day tomorrow. Can't wait to find out
