Those days seem to be far behind us. While our current group of head coaches and our current administration is in place, I highly doubt you see us field teams that don't look like they belong in the SEC. Baseball is on it's way to a 2nd regional in 2 years with a decent shot at a 2nd straight Super Regional under Cohen. Mullen has been to two straight bowl games, won them both, and finished with2 straightwinning records for the 1st time since 1999-2000. Men's tennis was in the top 10 and hosted in the NCAA Tournament. Women's softball had one of the best seasons they've had in a long time and got a 2 seed in a regional.
As a younger MSU fan, I can't imagine some of the horrible teams yall have seen fielded in all sports over the years. But right now, I just don't see that kind of "we are lil' ole MSU" junk being tolerated anymore. There isn't room for that anymore, and I think it's time we get past it. I know it may take more than a couple of consecutive regionals in baseball to get some of the older Dawgs to come around, but the improvement in sports like football, baseball, and a few others the new administration has had their hands in can't be denied. We've made some great coaching hires and they are starting to pay off for MSU.
