Even then, it was obviously easy money <div>

Those days seem to be far behind us. While our current group of head coaches and our current administration is in place, I highly doubt you see us field teams that don't look like they belong in the SEC. Baseball is on it's way to a 2nd regional in 2 years with a decent shot at a 2nd straight Super Regional under Cohen. Mullen has been to two straight bowl games, won them both, and finished with2 straightwinning records for the 1st time since 1999-2000. Men's tennis was in the top 10 and hosted in the NCAA Tournament. Women's softball had one of the best seasons they've had in a long time and got a 2 seed in a regional.

As a younger MSU fan, I can't imagine some of the horrible teams yall have seen fielded in all sports over the years. But right now, I just don't see that kind of "we are lil' ole MSU" junk being tolerated anymore. There isn't room for that anymore, and I think it's time we get past it. I know it may take more than a couple of consecutive regionals in baseball to get some of the older Dawgs to come around, but the improvement in sports like football, baseball, and a few others the new administration has had their hands in can't be denied. We've made some great coaching hires and they are starting to pay off for MSU.

but when it comes to baseball the older fans were used to us being pretty dang good. I graduated in 1985. We certainly didn't suck at baseball then. If Gene Morgan hadn't got hit on the foot in Omaha we would have won it all. Just thought I would comment as something of an outside observer on this. I don't get that fussed either way about minor sports like baseball..

So I was wrong. I'm damn proud of this team and support Cohen 100 percent. I questioned many things throughout the season and was way disappointed many times. BUT that doesn't negate the fact we are a good team right now and this was a great weekend. Enjoy it without patting yourself on the back too much.
