I don't see any way we get this game in tonight. The rain ahead of the front is well into NW Arkansas now. NWS has bumped up the time frame. They now say 100% chance of rain/thunderstorms between 7 pm and 4 am.
Last week all the schools in Denver and Colorado Springs were closed for an epic spring time blizzard, the likes of which had NEVER been seen in human history. Well, uh, all we got was wind.
Take those hourly predictions with a grain of salt. They are just guessing when the front is going to pass. That's why the NWS has a range of 9 hours. Looks like we could see some discrete cells (storms ahead of the main squall line) develop a couple hours before the front passes through thanks to a weaker cap than previously forecasted. I don't know what all the lighting rules are for baseball, but I'm pretty sure most any rain that comes through Starkville will include plenty of lightning/thunder. Don't be surprised if we get to see baseball...sized hail tonight.
