Week 3 AP Polls

I find the early season AP rankings to be more entertaining than insightful...not just in high school. There are far fewer guys like Edgy and Soucie than there are people who can vote...And the smaller classes are somewhat local expertise...you know the Northwest Upstate champ will be real good in 1A, but which team...

That said, you see it at all levels...Team A, despite beating Team B, remains higher ranked...SHG & Chatham Glenwood would be that example this year. Maybe some voters thought SHG lost on the road, making a 3 or 4 point game even on a neutral field...Ohio State or Alabama loses but remains higher ranked...North Dakota State is no. 1 every off-season...Meanwhile Texas starts decently ranked every year and then tanks, it seems...

The only stats I was referring to was how long Epic has been a poster (since January 2005) and number of posts (over 23,500). Epic is the "Iron Man" of the board.

Become the clearinghouse of that data, Edgy. Set some standards for collection and hope for the best. Teams could "opt in" and those team's O players are the available players in the pool. Encourage participation by reminding schools they'll be promoting their teams' "star players."

Individual defense stats like tackles can't be counted, but team D stats (PPG ALLOWED, PTS SCORED) are hard to fudge.

Jumping right into this dumpster start. Non football related but a start to keep this going. I was reading a GQ magazine this morning and thought to myself who in the hell would wear some of the male clothing in the magazine. My god were they awful. Unless you like sci-fi clothing or obnoxious colored glad rags this magazine is not for you! LOL

Trying to recreate the “Dumpster Fire” thread is like trying to recreate the 1967 “Summer of Love”. No matter how much drugs, psychedelic music and casual sex you mix together, it will never reproduce the magic of the original moment. All that is left are the memories (and flashbacks).
