Much more research went into this week's efforts. Four out of five dentists choose the "Light Side" over the "Dark Side" and don't let JCHILLTOPPERS tell you otherwise! Bring it JC!!

1. Homewood-Flossmoor ... Vikings hand LWW their first loss, only Bolingbrook (week 9) stands in the way of an undefeated regular season.

2. Brother Rice ... the Crusaders have played a very respectable schedule and have passed the first 5 weeks with flying colors with that explosive offense. MC, SR, and Loyola will be tough challenges- think this top 5 team will finish with one loss.

3. Loyola ... Impressive win over Fenwick, four quality wins to date, defense starting to put it together. If they are #1, they will have the chance to prove it soon.

4. Neuqua Valley ... Wildcats run, pass, and play good defense. NV pulls away late against Bishop Chatard, IN. Big game this week vs. NN Huskies.

5. East St. Louis ... beat Providence 34-3 week one, then highly regarded Christian Bros., MO in week two. Only remaining test is Edwardsville (5-0) this week.

6. Lincoln-Way East ... win over Bolingbrook looking less impressive. Best game may have been their close loss to HF. Bradley awaits week eight. Have I mentioned that they have 110 players?

7. CL Prairie Ridge ... got them rated slightly ahead of Cary Grove due to their close head-to-head win week one.

8. Cary Grove ... has responded to week one loss to PR with four blowout wins. Both Fox Valley teams just one game short of title game last year.

9. Mt. Carmel ... yes I still have them in my top 10. Would you want to face the Caravan in the playoffs? I didn't think so. Heartbreaking rivalry game loss last week to SR. **** happens. Don't think anybody goes undefeated in the CCL Blue.

10. Barrington & Palatine (tie) ... Barrington with the nice win over MS... Palatine with the good win over Stevenson. Frankly, I think there are several teams that could be ranked here including St. Charles East, Glenbard West (they will be there in the end), Lyons, Naper North (with huge win over GN), Marist, etc.

Lyons had played a pretty weak schedule until the win over GBW. Can't rank OPRF and HC due to lack of quality wins.

I'm glad you didn't mention 5-0 West Aurora!! Strength of schedule is shall we say.. "Questionable" for a lot of these "undefeated teams".

I'm appalled at the lack of respect shown NN on this board and the purveyor of the "Light Side" rankings in particular. What do the Huskies have to do to garner some respect in Edgyland? Will it finally come when they handle NV this Friday? I'm looking for a bandwagon on which to hop. I think I may have found it. The pinnacle of IL HS football this year can be found in Northern Naperville.

Light Side vs Darkside..... Love it!!

What about the following:?
1 Loyola
2 HF
3 ESL
4 Brother Rice
5 Neuqua Valley
6 Palatine
7 Lyons Township
8 Barrington
9 Naperville North
10 LWE
On the bubble - PR and GBW. Two other undefeated teams in HC and OPRF just not sure about their schedule to date.

Only team in my top 10 with a loss is LWE

I'm going to need to understand the underlying ideological core of the LSR, the voting history, and your legislative goals and priorities. We'll then need to structure ~3 debates, and make a collective decision this November on which 'X'SR will lead us next year.

I will gladly release said documentation as soon as the DSR agrees to submit deleted rough-draft edits from three previous rating cycles. I do this against the wishes of my attorneys (Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe).

I believe my Huskies have a "body of work" that warrants a top 20 ranking. Considering there are over 500 football playing schools in Illinois, that's pretty good company. We have had three close wins this year, don't forget. Thanks for your... appallment!
