The Handley QB they have now has been lighting it up all year, especially connecting with Will Yoder. While I was watching, Kettle Run was totally dominating the line of scrimmage and getting so much pressure, that I am sure that led to some of the turnovers. I also read somewhere that Handley was missing some other players. I also read that Kettle Run was missing some players when they played Millbrook. So I guess both teams can be really good, but just can't handle a few players being out.

Handley was snakebitten from the opening whistle, when they tried a short kickoff and ended up giving KR the ball in their own half of the field to start. The first time Handley tried to punt the punter couldn't handle the snap and got tackled in the backfield. On their next possession they went with the QB "quick kick" on fourth down and he booted it straight into a lineman. Then came the interceptions and at least one fumble. I hadn't seen either team before, but Handley has to be better than they showed today.one
Part of the issue with Handley is, early in this season and last season is no one truly knows how good they are, even their coaches due to the cupcake schedule they play. Why they do that to themselves I will never understand. They don't put themselves into a position that they have to dig down and fight for the win. So when they finally play a good team and things aren't going as planned, they seem to have no answer on how to right the ship. I think their players have the capability and toughness to do the job, they just don't know how to because they haven't been in the position that they have to find away to gut out a win. I think that's
on the coach and the AD.

One of my favorite teams will be playing for their State Championship this coming week.
The Barrow AK Whalers face Homer, a team they have played twice this year, splitting the outcomes.

On my bucket list, is to get up there and see a game. I just can’t seem to stay healthy enough to follow through with my plans. But good Lord willing, maybe 2026 will be my year. Regardless, I’ll be rooting for those tough, tough kids from Utqiagvik.

This is the correct answer in my opinion. Handley will have a good chance against Sherando though, because they a content to sit back 10 yards off the LOS and play a soft Zone. Hopefully they correct that before then. Handley won’t be able to stop the Sherando run game .

I didn't go to the game, but as far as I'm aware Handley's star QB is still out. It really can't be understated how good he is, and how much of a difference he can make. I genuinely think he's the best QB in the state even as a sophomore. He's at least the best I've seen, and better than any other QB in the Winchester area since Sherando's Metheny played. They had a 135-99 yard advantage at half, so I'm guessing they were just exceptionally sloppy with the ball.

I'm not sure what to make of Kettle Run. They lost to Millbrook last week so they can't be all that good, but I didn't expect them to win like they did today. They play Sherando next week in what should be a good game.
Handley won’t be getting the original starting QB back this year. Let’s all hope he makes it back next year. He is a good one.

In all fairness, when they made the schedule, they probably expected Eastern View to be better than they are now.
