Week 7 pick-em comments.

I am wondering with Hurricane Matthew if the games on Friday will be moved to Thursday as the forecast could be bad through Monday. Tough with all these Monday games.
On a local game note Lafayette looked as sloppy as I have seen them in awhile against York. I counted 6 fumbles including the two muffed pooch KOs by York and 111 yards in penalties- included three unsportsmanlike calls. Maybe he step up in opponent- Grafton will lead to better discipline and execution.

All I know is im nervous about Rustburg. Their athletes far outman JF's. Heritage had far better athletes as well but I feel like Rustburg is a new level in regards to schemes, discipline, and quality of the team as a whole. However, I have not seen them play yet this year so that could be off. Anybody seen Rustburg in action to this point?
Since it was on the pick em this week, maybe one of the best games in the state this Friday happens to be in 2a. Appo travels to Ringgold (right outside Danville's city limits) to play the Dan River Wildcats. I think both of these teams could play with a lot of 4a teams outside of Dinwiddie and maybe Lake Taylor. I think Appo is Amherst's biggest threat, even though I have the Lancers going 10-0. Dan River already beat the defending 3a state champs Magna Vista and have blew every other team out. Appo's resume speaks for itsself. Defending 2a champs and gave Amherst a really ugly loss last year to close the season. I told myself to just go with my gut this year, but 9 correct picks last week is unacceptable, ha! I actually did real research on the teams this week. Let's start this comeback, @DanvilleSportsHead!

I watched Rustburg play at Appomattox and then last week at home against Brookville... The team that played Appomattox (closely) is a lot better now than they were 4 weeks ago. That being said they held Appo to 17 points who happens to still be undefeated and still slaughtering teams in 2A. Appo did however have a hard time running.
Last week against the bees, Rustburg dominated in all aspects minus a missed tackle on a kickoff... That being said, Rustburg was very close to knocking off JF last year as it came down to the last poss. This defense this year is 2x better and while not throwing as much the offense makes it up with multiple backs and the QB who can pound the rock. Lots of speed too...thinking 35-12 at JF, Rustburg wins.

I like the "12" for JF haha taking into account our lack of kicker.
Amherst at Brookville could be exiting for a little bit, it's at Brookville and the Lancers will struggle without their QB, but I think they still win by 14+

Another tough pick em with the results we know so far, 1 game will be played Saturday at 2:00 (Phoebus/Heritage-NN) Looks like the high possible score for the week will be a 15 for newleather if Phoebus wins or a 14 for OCBoy if Heritage NN wins. Overall this week was tougher than last week, which had been the toughest to this point.

hey Mike you may want to check with vhsl -helper... he's got a post on scoreboard, called scores/sched. Changes for thur.-wed,10/6-12, under his second reply of Friday's scores at the bottom under postponements and cancellations he has Heritage @ Phoebus moved from Saturday to Friday November 4th @ 7:00
Thank you greyfox I checked Maxpreps and both teams are open Nov 4 so that makes sense.
