North Stokes at Mount Airy

Main things to note here will be if MA lets the Vikings score and if they can find ways to get healthy. North Stokes don’t have much to fight MA with but they will be quite physical.

Forbush at Surry Central

All Forbush was obsessed with asking on Monday was “How is Central?” Shows how nervous they were for this game and their looking forward bit them in the butt for a half. Their experience and size bit NS in the butt in the 2nd half but the Hounds found some of their faults and exposed the Falcons for it early on. This Forbush team is nowhere as solid as the spring one was and if Central can figure out how to exploit their faults we will have a ball game in Dobson. I just think the Bush line is a little better than Central’s but Central’s QB will give them fits all night. Forbush’s QB was out with Covid and it made their offense really one dimensional Monday; if they can’t find some other ways to move the ball besides Matthews it might bite them in the butt.

Starmount at Elkin

Neither team is that consistent but Starmount has had both more physicality on the line and more heart. That sometimes is enough to make me want to pick a team so why not?

East Wilkes at Alleghany

East has burnt me too many times this year and Alleghany is quite inconsistent so I’m skipping this one. I don't want an egg on me either way. If East loses again Wilmoth might as well start packing his office.

Wilkes Central at North Wilkes

The Eagles return to action after East got Covid and had to miss last week. They have had an awful start to conference play and badly need a turn around and they will get it this week vs a North Wilkes team who managed to wrestle defeat from the jaws of victory last week. NW will give Central some fits on offense but I think Central will be too much for NW’s pathetically lax defense.

Hibriten at Ashe County

Ashe managed to put on a tough fight vs Alexander Central in the opener to show that they aren’t pushovers. However things will get tougher each week and this week they face a young but still solid Hibriten team for the first time in a little while. These two played quite often during the early air raid days for Ashe and the Huskies won in 2014 vs them. I don’t see that happening but I expect a closer game than many figure.

HP Andrews at West Stokes

West Stokes returns home tonight to face a very hard to figure HPA team. They have been put down quite hard in a few matchups this year but West offers their first real competitive matchup in a while. If HPA’s line plays well they may have a solid chance here, but if not West will do enough to pull it out. Tough pick but I go with Andrews due to their speed.

Walkertown at North Forsyth

The Pack were put down rather easily by the Rams last Friday and it was honestly quite surprising to see them go down that way. They had no real answer to match Reidsville and their attempts at the spread was goofy. They cannot afford to be goofy tonight as they face a very motivated and streaking North Forsyth team for 2nd place. Many including myself expected Walkertown to run away with it this year but honestly it hasn’t happened. In the spring Walkertown played rather mediocre and left NF in the game despite their win, another crap performance will do much worse this time. Honestly my gut says to pick NF in the upset and I will!

Sorry for being later than usual.. been a busy week and I'm exhausted. The game being early changed things so I had to be MIA yesterday.

39-13 overall for the year after last week.

Wilmoth has done more damage to what could have been a promising class than I have ever seen. Several kids will more than likely transfer out next year.
