I think there is more going on than team performance and time slots. I feel like COVID has cost MSU 5% to 10% attendance, and I’m not sure they’re coming back. Definitely not in 2021.

I’ve had great Gameday experiences all year. Just outstanding. Last night took me 5 minutes to get to my seat from outside the stadium. After the game, traffic took about 5 to 10 minutes to get off campus. I could not ask for anything more.

I think COVID taught a portion of our season ticket holders they can scratch their itch for college football coming to 2 or 3 games instead of 5 or 6. I really don’t know how you get them back.

I think we have significant room for improvement in how we market Leach, though. He is one of the most widely known coaches in the country and there are a million angles you can take with that guy. But I don't even feel like me market him as much as we did Moorhead.

Let's consider and analyze our fanbase... a large majority of them. We do tend to fit in a certain demographic...

Wait.....are you saying that this is how it APPEARS to fans due to his demeanor, or are you saying you (and others) actually truly believe he's not invested in the program due to his demeanor? That's an important distinction to make.

If it's the former, I mean, it's Mike Leach, he's always been that way. People need to quit being sensitive sheeple.

If it's the latter....how invested will anyone ever be? He's not going anywhere. All logic points to him staying here until retirement. That seems pretty invested to me.

And to get the fan that will help sell out the stadium - to me - a way a coach engages with the fanbase matters. But I reiterate - if we consistently win - that matters more.

I'll be honest. I didn't have any issues at all with the gameday experience Saturday, other than the fact there was no one directing traffic outside lot 13 after the game and it took us 20 minutes to get out of the parking lot. Other than that, the tailgating was good, the security checks went quickly, they didn't even check my tickets (if you go in the south gate on the east side you might get lucky), concessions were OK and lines weren't long (although I was upper deck which was about half full). Even after the game, once we finally got out of our lot, getting off campus went smoothly and quickly.

I agree with this. Like it or not, that's how it is. Leach just needs to win, stay out of politics, and then he can start the kooky stuff again and maybe they'll do another 60 Minutes about him.

I agree somewhat. Most “real fans” come for the football and for the atmosphere of seeing it live and being a VERY small part of it.
The last 10-15,000 fans needed to fill it up is the part that has to be address by better game day operations.
I consider myself in the first category and will continue to buy season tickets as long as I’m able but I’m not sure there are enough of us. Also, I enjoy the improvements made to game day over the last 20 years (mostly) and if they can improve on it more… I’m all for it.

But if you watch videos or look at photos from the games, you don't see many with any coaches in them. Even the alma mater and fight songs appear to be mostly lead by players with no coach involvement.

I guess that could be a way to trying to develop leaders within the team? Idk, but our marketing kind of has a more "pro team" feel to it where the marketing is centered around the players with coaches way in the background.

Go do a google search on images for Alabama or Ole Miss football. You'll see Saban and Kiffin in the first few pictures. Florida football - there's four or five Mullen pics in the top 100 or so. I do the same search Mississippi State football and I see two pictures total of Leach out of a few hundred.

At one time the SEC rule was they had to be poured into cups. Either that was changed, or they are allowing us to use koozies as way of getting around that.
