What's everyone drinking on this weekend? Trying anything new? I'm gonna drink some Abita Spring IPA. Good, solid brew.

Lagunitas has a limited edition Ale

called NightTime Ale.

May try that. Everything I have had from them is outstanding. DOnt think this would be any different.

Lagunitas has another called Undercover Investigation Shutdown Ale. I really liked it. I'm drinking Great Divide Lasso IPA and Red Hare Gangway IPA this weekend. Both are great.

Had a couple or five Miller Fortunes during the game. I know drinking beer from the domestic Big Three isn't cool, but I kinda like the Fortune. Besides, they owe me some good beer as much Miller lite and High Life I drank back in the day.

I've been on a try everything new I can find kick lately. It has me burned out on the palate kicking beers. Ready to mellow out with the warmer weather.

Had a few Dos Equis Ambers at OTB then came home with Sam Adams Summer. Thinking about trying a hefe Saturday.

Ahhh been lovin me some miller Fortune. Really didn't expect much from when I first bought it, but a six pack will get you feelin good and not too full like most heavy beers. I love it

Nice. I've got a batch of stout conditioning in the bottle right now (it's been about 2 weeks). Last night I drank a couple of my Belgian tripels, which I made with coriander and orange peel (with ca. 8.8% ABV)...they're pretty good.

Bostel's Triple Karmelite and Bell's Two Hearted in my kegerator. Got an empty tap and can't decide what other beer to put on it. Thinking about a Kolsch or Saisson.

I love Bell's Two Hearted, it's one of my favorites along with Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale. Unfortunately, like many of the better beers, I've only seen those two outside MS

Make fun all you want, but I like Reds Apple Ale and Bud Light Lime in the summer time.

You'll get no negative comments from me as both beers are geared more for drinking during summer time.

If it's a good summer beer you want, try Shiner's Ruby Redbird. That stuff is about as good as it gets for nice summertime flavor while keeping the taste of beer (as opposed to a processed flavor of Lemonade or Lime juice). I have enjoyed several Shandy's though.

My girlfriend brought me back some beers from her trip to Houston. 90 min IPA by Dogfish Head, St. Arnold's Elissa IPA. Good stuff.

Our next review is going to be centered around summertime beers. Seeing as we don't drink many fruity beers, it should interesting.

Brad Pitt has a great taste in beer. Too bad Brees didn't fire one back at him though.

Oh yeah.... Ruby Redbird is outstanding. And I agree with you when it comes to Shandys as well as Cream Ales and Ciders... I think that Saisons and Farmhouse ales are also very good summertime beers. Porters and stouts on the other hand, I usually don't drink them during the summer.

There are some good summer brews out there that aren't necessarily fruity. One in particular is Bell's Oberon. If you could include that one in your next review I'd be interested to see what you think.

Went to Green Flash today and they really do some good stuff. West Coast IPA is one of my favorites that you can easily get in stores.

Glad to see Bell's Two Hearted mentioned as well. That's my go to beer on game day since it's so smooth and flavorful, but doesn't make your stomach feel like it's going to explode once your 6 pack is looking pretty lonely.

These are some of my favorite IPAs that are pretty nationally available:

Bell's Two Hearted Ale
Stone IPA
Green Flash West Coast IPA
Ballast Point Sculpin IPA

And if you can ever find them, Project Dank and Elevated IPA from La Cumbre are excellent, and Pliny the Elder from Russian River is about as good as it gets for an approachable Double IPA.

I have enjoyed several Shandy's though.

I was in England last summer for about a month - The cask ales are the 17'n truth; 17 Germany...the UK has them beat. I probably spent 800 quid on beer alone, lol.

Speaking of shandy's though: in England, if you ask for a shandy at most pubs, they fill half a pint with ale, and the other half with sprite/7up, lol. Not my cup'o'tea, as they say.

Here's a visual sample of my escapades ;)

Dogfish Head 90 Minute is the winner. If you've had it and prefer anything else, I question your manhood.

I may be incorrect, but I believe Shandy's originated in the UK - with Henry VIII. They would mix an ale with lemon juice and sugar (lemonade) due to some condition Ole Henry had - and it turned out to be really good. If I'm wrong, don't tell me...the story is still a cool one to tell.

As for Cream Ales (which are the best post-yard work summertime beer in my opinion), O'Fallon's Kite Tail takes the cake. That stuff is absolutely delicious.

Hit the grand tasting at Avenue Pub on Saturday. The top five from that event:

Goose Island Bourbon County Coffee Sout
Prairie Bomb
Evil Twin Biscotti Break
Pretty Things Barbapapa
North Coast Old Stock Ale aged in Brandy Barrels

Co-worker just got back from Pensacola, so I'll be on the Cigar City Jai Alai kick for the next week.

OK, I'm in North Carolina so my opinion counts 5x anyone else's

Mother Earth Brewing's Park Day, a Bohemian-Style Pilsner. Perfect for sipping on in the Western North Carolina mountains or anywhere else for that matter.

I am not a fan of bourbon aged anything...just my opinion

I am looking forward to this weekend of reviewing some summer seasonals but we can not get Bell's anything here in MS so to the guy who was talking about that....sorry...I would love to drink their whole catalog but blame them...not me.

I'm a big IPA fan also.

To me the Abita Spring IPA is not a true IPA, but it's a great beer. Has that citrus taste too it..

I just got a 6 pack of Cigar City's Jai Alai IPA from a friend. Good Stuff.

The Sierra Nevada Fresh Hop Ale and Northern Hemisphere are at Hops and Habana's still and there both great beers.

I wish we would get some more of New Belgium's IPA's here in MS.
I also heard that we will be getting Stone and Laguanitas here in MS real soon.

Keep on Drinking Bushman...
