WHEN he has control he's good. I'm guessing they're hoping he figures it out. IMHO it's all between the ears.
At least with him on Sunday we should have plenty of bullpen to play with. Tough when your #2 and #3 starter haven't made it past the 4th inning this year, hopefully see some good things with Davis.

Davis has always been a starter in high school, legion ball, and judo. He will give us 90 pitches.

So what I take from this is that our rotation going into sec play will be Pico, Davis and Pruitt.

Sure feels like it. And I don’t hate it at all.

I am guessing Simmons starts one of the midweek games in Biloxi, unless we are planning on using him as a bullpen guy again.

Very surprised Ligon held a spot in the starting rotation for the weekend. He has been worse than Simmons. Hopefully a change there gets made before the Texas series. We have better options.

I am a bit surprised as well. I figured Ligon would be the odd man out. Perhaps Simmons is going back to the bullpen where he earned his chops three years ago and Ligon is still being evaluated. Still not sold on Ligon as an SEC starter because even though he can throw hard he gets hit hard because he can't throw off-speed for strikes consistently. If SEC hitters can sit on the fastball they will put a lot of souvenirs in the lounge off of him.

I think ligon is still in there because the coaches view queens as an easier opponent than the midweek games so no point in moving him right now. He will need to start for us but will probably enter the midweek starter options. After this weekend.
