Weekend rotation?

Who are the likely candidates to be our three starters for baseball weekends?

I know we're hoping that Brandon and Jacob are both healed up and thinking straight. But there are quite a few arms (both new and old) that look to be competitive on the mound.

Rumors that Lindgren could end up being our Girodo this year. Apparently he has added several mph and is looking good. I would be fine with that.

Woodruff, Hudson, Young, Fitts, and even CT Bradford are apparently going to be in the mix. Lots of competition, so I'm sure we will be able to depend on whoever the starters end up being.

If the two you mentioned are rite they will be there. I would like to see Cox go back to the high arm angle and give him a shot at a Sunday spot.

As usual, we will play a lot of 4 game weekends early to see who can do what. Everyone will get plenty of opportunity I'm sure.

I know Cohen said Lindgren may go to the pen and Bradford/Bracewell may be in the rotation, but he really can't say that with a straight face. He says goofy **** every year. If healthy, Woodruff and Lindgren are our 1 and 2 guys. I think Fitts is the Sunday guy myself, but Hudson looked good this weekend. Young could also do it.

Mitchell/Bracewell/Cox/Gentry out of the bullpen. Holder and Shelly closing. Holder still as scary as always, as in, he strikes out two people, loads the bases, then strikes out the last guy.

Agree that Bradford should not, and probably will not, start...but I disagree about Lindgren. He has never been consistent as a starter, so I wouldn't be surprised to see us put him in a Girodo role after what Chad did last year.

now obviously, if Hudson, Young, etc can't step up to be that 3rd starter, then they may be forced to start Lindgren, but it appears they're going to try to bring him out of the pen through most indications.

This is my rationale on this:

- Coaches love the lefty starter. They've wanted one and done everything they could to find out since they've been here.
- The whole Girodo thing was hatched out of necessity last year. That's not a pattern we need to strive towards on a yearly basis.
- Lindgren was the Friday night guy last year and was great until the line drive.
- Lindgren is too talented to go to the pen. He's got starter stuff. The coaches know this, they are just talking like they have done every year.

Feel free to disagree but I can't see it shaking out any other way.

I've figured you out. You have the shortest memory I've every seen in my life. Which pretty much makes you an average fan I suppose.

I guess I should have said, "Feel free to disagree if you don't know what you're talking about".

So you tell me to "feel free to disagree" then when I simply disagree you want to try calling me out? I have no doubts that if I'm on the opposite side of an argument with your dumbass, I'm on the right path. You're awful.

And while I've never claimed to be a "know it all", I feel confident that I have forgotten more sports knowledge than you will ever know. I know that's not saying much though.

Ok I've read where they promised CT the Sunday start if he came back. Don't believe? Who started today's Sunday scrimmage. So that moves Lindgren to the pen. Doesn't really matter the way they treat starters. Look at last year, the middle relief pitchers were the ones with the lions share of the innings. If they feel they need their best at innings 4-8 and then go to Holder it makes sense to use more experienced pitchers in middle relief. With the quick hook they have for starters it really doesn't matter. But it's only October so things will adjust.
