Looks like Woodruff is out.

Probable Rotation at Georgia: Friday - RSr. RHP Ben Bracewell (2-1, 1.74 ERA); Saturday - Jr. RHP Trevor Fitts (2-0, 3.92 ERA); Sunday - TBA

Anyone think Preston Brown could go on Sunday? If not, he should definitely be in our weekend rotation starting next week. I have high hopes for Hudson but so far he seems to fall apart very quickly in a jam.

I doubt Brown could throw this weekend. Didn't he break 100 pitches on Tuesday? I would rest him, and let his first SEC start come at home against Vandy.

This is one reason I'd like to see us schedule more midweek games later in the season. We've basically played two or three more games than the rest of the SEC to this point (5 more than UGA, 7 more than Arkansas). Now it's going to be tough to get Hudson, Woodruff, and Brown innings each week if Bracewell and Fitts are your Friday, Saturday guys.

I like the 4-game weekends early because it prepares you better for a regional. But I don't like only 4 midweek games during the SEC season. Really no good way to do it with only 56 games max, but we'd probably be better off doing away with some of the early season midweek games. We should have a midweek game pretty much every week during the SEC season except exam week.

ETA: No reason Brown couldn't pitch on Sunday. He pitched on Tuesday. Pitching on Tuesday-Sunday is a normal rotation in pro baseball. The reason colleges don't do it that way is because they want their top 3 going every weekend.

The scary thing is that I'm not completely sold on Fitts just yet, and I honestly think Bracewell's best role out of the bullpen. Our rotation scares me even more than it did last year because nobody has shown that they can be solid on almost every outing like Graveman did for us. Couple that with teams suddenly making good contact on Mitchell..... We REALLY need Hudson or Woodruff to learn to get out of a jam.
