We are the same, Belleville West then Libertyville. Both games will be home. Crossover against South Elgin again.
Looking for non-cons for the 2018 season to open up the new "DuKane" conference.

I think this is a great idea. I know I don't have a horse in the race anymore but I think it would be good for both programs to get this monkey off their backs and finally play a non conference game week 1 or 2
Naz Montini 2 year deal to start, with a permanent arrangement to follow. Think we can get the ADs to sign off on that.

Two Naz guys trying to get better match ups and you come with this. I think things can change.

I like that as well but Lyons has said no in the past. Really can't blame them it's a no win situation for them and they sit in the middle of their district.

After thinking about this a while I don't think it's a good idea for either team. I think the current strategy for non-con schedule for each team is working the way it is.

Will never happen. Racki never initiated a game with next door Addison Trail while at Driscoll. He would say they were too big but deep down I think they knew they would beat AT and that would cause a community rift.
It will be nice to have non conference games in week 1 and 2 again instead of conference games. The timing should allow for everyone to find games and not have to go out of state.
This post really surprises me. I gotta imagine it would be more beneficial to Montini to have a 6-5 5a Nazareth than an 8a Maine South who will be playing for the title. I highly doubt Jwar speaks for the Naz admin and most likely nothing comes from it but isn't this everything the Montini people were asking for? Im beginning to think these two programs never match up.
That was like 10-15 years ago and two different schools entirely? Would Naz say no? Maybe I wouldn't blame them. Would LT say no? Maybe I wouldn't blame them either. Would I love to see the game? Absolutely! It should be LT's best team in a long time next year and Naz thinks they'll be much improved so let's do it!

With your 2 posts above I don't think LT/Naz and Montini/Naz would be interested in playing each other because they draw students from the same area. That was my thinking here.
With AT/Driscoll the schools were next door to each other and the students did not get along. Therefore this is why I think Racki and AT would try to avoid the matchup.

If Naz doesn't play the usual suspects in game 1 and 2, which leads me to suspect that you have information as to Naz's intentions re its first two games, what caused the change in philosophy? As you recall, Coach Racki has been reluctant to schedule nc tough teams due to the ESSC schedule.

You are correct that I do not speak for the admin at Naz but I certainly can call Coach on his cell to discuss anything. Can also do the same with Dennis, Deb Tracy, Duane etc. in all honesty I think it would be a good thing for both Montini and Nazareth to move forward with this arrangement. It seems odd to me that Wassup is shying away from the game that we have all talked about for the last several years!

I'm just shying away from it but you know Andriano he will play anybody.
Honestly I think that would be the reason to play these games. From both perspectives there is something on the line but the fact that the kids played against and with each other prior would make the games that much more fun. I think HS sports are different then they were before, most games are respectful because the kids all know each other. They compete together and work together in the offseason, I don't see those games getting ugly personally. Bragging rights games would fantastic, my kids would have loved to have played LT, Naz, Benet, or OPRF. Montini has been fun lately, as many of the kids/families know each other but it'd be better with the other 4 as there is even more familiarity. Battle it out on the field and after the game you remain friends off. That's how sports are trending in this country. Look no further than super teams, taking pictures after games and exchanging jerseys. You didn't see that stuff years ago.
Don't take this the wrong way but is this indicative or where Montini is headed? I mean just last year you guys (Montini fans) were all for it, to the point that you were saying Naz was afraid to play MC. Maybe they were and maybe they still are but is either team legitimately open?
No, still great players in the system as always. I think adding the 3rd power non-con game against BR with MS and LZ on the schedule already could have been a mistake this year.
Right but Naz would in theory replace MS or LZ on the schedule. You could only play 2 non cons a year.
The Naz non-conference schedule has been a sore subject for Naz fans since the recent resurgence of Naz football. Being that GF started this thread it is obvious Naz has scheduled stronger non-conf teams for 2017.
As for Montini being on the Naz schedule for 2017 you will have to ask GF, or Jwar, since he has the phone number of everyone that counts at Naz.

I am just a fan, I don't have the cell phone numbers of the decision makers at Montini as Jwar has, nor am I a coach as GF is. I have no information as to Montini's 2017 non-conf schedule and like most fans have to wait until the schedule comes out on the internet.

I only have the numbers because they are readily available to Naz Parents and the admin are very engaging and open to listening to stakeholders thoughts. As I said I'm no longer a stakeholder but I still engage with coaches because they are friends and also because they are talking to college coaches about my kids. Wassup I certainly understand that Coach A doesn't back down and I just believe it's a good fit for both programs to have a go. I have not spoken to the Godfthr about this but if he's probing I'm guessing he's also trying to coordinate something.

The AD schedules all the games. I'm guessing Racki was always taking the high road and not throwing any administration under the bus on poor scheduling. I think everyone at Naz, including the AD would rather play someone that will get them playoff points in case of a 5 win season.
Montini fans are certainly signing a different tune this year. Is Naz open week 1 or 2 next year? What do you think about playing LT? Or is that just a pipe dream in my head?
That is great that you still talk to the coaches. Next time you are on the phone ask about the the 2017 non-conf schedule and if you can let us know what Naz has cooked up for 2017.
I don't think Watssup speaks for all Montini fans, certainly not me. I would love to see Montini play Naz. If you are intimating that Montini would back away from playing Montini, and that Naz is ready and willing to play all comers, you are not a student of the history of non-conf scheduling of either school.
Fair enough, I'm not even sure what's going on in this thread. Trying to see if Naz is open, seems like maybe they are. Montini and Maine S already played twice and most of those agreements are two years so maybe! Selfishly I think it would be exciting!
Btw I see you added a LB transfer from Hinsdale Central, congrats that kid is a player!

What brought the name calling on? I only expressed the fact, not opinion, that Montini has a history of playing a strong non-conf schedule and Naz has a history of playing a weak non-conf schedule. In that GF started this thread it was my opinion that Naz is going to play a stronger non-conf schedule.
