NCAA states, with current info, Cam is eligible but Cecil is guilty:

 • MSU is vindicated but Auburn doesn’t lose Cam
 • Auburn goes to BCS bowl = > MSU goes up a step in bowl
 • SEC collects BCS money

MSU gets a slap on the wrist for booster involvement.

 • This minor violation doesn’t impact recruiting because its over and done by December.

I’m pissed at Auburn as much as anybody, but in the long run we will be better off if this **** dies. The bottom line is: College sports, in its current system, cannot survive in an environment where a father is willing to sell his son to the highest bidder.

It is very well established that Cecil Newton shopped Cam to MSU for money.

It is also well established that the NCAA considers the recruit and his immediate family as one party. Whether or not Cam knew is completely irrelevant.

By the NCAA's rules and by statements from an NCAA spokesperson - asking for money makes the player ineligible. There is no way on earth Cam stays eligible through this - IF the NCAA puts forth a ruling.

Whether or not the NCAA makes any decisions this season is a good question. Whether or not they'll rule Cam eligible is not a good question. He won't be eligible. Open and shut.

1. The MSU program is as clean as a virgin's honeypot or we wouldn't have started all of this ****. I think we spent the time between when Bond told Byrne and Byrne told Slive making sure that we were clean from the football team all the way down to frisbee golf and maybe even down to intramural bowling.

2. Woe be unto you if you everillegally 17with a recruit that we're after. We may not beat you on the football field but as far as the NCAA is concerned, we'll send you back to mother in a cardboard box!

I agree with you on this point, but I think the reason MSU needs to getresolutionASAP is recuiting.I believe Camwill eventually be ruled ineligible, but delaying that ruling into next yearis not in the best interest to MSU. We are clean on this, but don't thinkour SECopponentsare not using this against us.

The NCAA is working faster than I've ever seen them work. They will rule on this soon. They do not want the entire season wasted on an ineligible player. MSU will come out of this fine. It will not affect us at all. Settle down. Auburn are the ones that should be worried, not us.
