it appears Eric Richards will be on the shelf for spring practice with an injury. Who could have predicted that?

I'd pull his scholarship.

If he is hurt that bad, he is of no use to us anyway. I'd let him stay on as a walk-on if he so desires, but we can use his scholarship on someone that is actually playing.

Richards is a bigger letdown for sure. Mr All-Everything kicker comes in, can't kick better than the worst kicker in recent history, and stays injured.

He is more than likely the worst QB recruited to a SEC school ever. He wouldn't have even started on my flag football team. It is not Ty's fault that he shouldn't have been recruited. Just because Croom gave someone a scholarship doesn't mean they were supposed to be qualified to play on the team.

ty wasnt a letdown?...not a wasted scholorship?....if you knew he didnt have the talent to play sec division 1 ball and you give him a scholorship that would equal a wasted scholorship......richards has the talent, its just......well, honestly i dont know what the problem is....croom probably messed him up pretty bad by getting his leg broke, mentally and physically.

He was a wasted scholly for sure. I think what TBone was saying is that he wasn't a letdown because there were no expectations for him to succeed.

Ya know..."I found that if you have a goal, that you might not reach it. But if you don't have one, then you are never disappointed. And I gotta tell ya... it feels phenomenal."</p>

I was hoping he was a diamond in the rough but there was a reason he had basically no other scholarship offers. I imagine there are alot of football players that will take a scholie to an SEC school even though they aren't good enough. It is not the players fault if they just dont have the talent and abilities. That is on the retard of a head coach for not knowing what the hell he was doing.

He has had some injury problems also. I think it might be where he is physical stats are good but he just isn't that great of a football player. If all you had to do as a Wr was run real fast and be tall, Usain Bolt would be breaking records for a shitton of money right now.

Exactly. If someone was dumb enough to give me a football scholarship to an SEC school, I'd be all over it, no questions asked. Free ride? Absolutely. That one's all on Croom.
