just seems pathetic.

Where are the good ole days of the 'ole miss wild boys' and col reb is crying?

Where is that arrogance that couldnt tolerate another minute of Cutcliff?

Godfrey, is Oxford no longer the greatest place on the17ing planet?

I mean Bruiser isnt here to explan this **** and I dont think I can stand anotherpost of coach telling us why the17ing 4th string holder on the team is the reason whyRelfcant produce.

Here is anidea, get some flags, a guy in a damn confederate uniform and 6 drunk bastards to bring in a trumpet and play dixie until someone takes them out of the stadium.

go get Dickie out of jail, but do some 17ing thing.

this is just boring.

but I gotta admit this whole thing is getting pretty $%!$$#+ stupid. I understand wanting Boone out, hell we wanted Larry out for a long time before we got it, but Boone is not the anti-Christ or anything. The guy loves Ole Miss. I agree they need a new AD but treating the old one like absolute **** isn't exactly the greatest sales pitch for the next guy you go after. Who's going to take that job and put up with the **** they have going on?

On the other hand, I think waiting so long to build a new basketball arena is inexcusable. Now they are going to have to shell out a ton of money for a sport most the in the SEC don't care a ton about. All while we are expanding the stadium and building specialty football facilities. That was a huge mistake.

Poor pitiful creature to your face, but conniving and treacherous when you turn your back. Like Gollum, they once had the ring (of football greatness) until about 100 years ago, when they lost it forever. </p>

That's a great idea. I would pay to watch that.

new regime, they bring the Bear mascot out on the field before kickoff, and then Col. Reb runs in from the endzone and chases the Bear off the field while the band plays Dixie. He thinks the fans would explode. I tend to agree at this point. In fact, I hope it doesn't happen. Traditions can be a powerful thing.

What I mean is, did anyone even give a 17 about Dixie or Col Reb until their administration brought it to the forefront? I agree it is embarrassing at this point, but 90% of their delusional fanbase deserves every minute of this.

out of something that most people didn't even care about - not much anyway. Kinda like the ****-fit over the State of Mississippi flag. We were all told if we didn't change it nobody would vacation here, business would fall off, etc., but if we changed it wonderful things would happen. Well, we didn't change it and we don't see any negative fallout. Just a non-issue.

I'd be fine if Ole Miss never found even a shred of success in any sport ever again. I will say, however, that the situation in Oxford seems to be a lot worse than I thought. It goes beyond a bad football team and while I can't put my finger on it, it just has a really bad feel to it. Kind of like a group of guys sitting around a table where everyone has something on everyone else so they can't do much other than show up every day and stare at each other.

I think choosing a mascot that is only a costume was stupid. People barely tolerate the costumed mascots anyway. If you had something ferocious and live I think the reception would be different. Maybe I'm crazy but looking at a bear does not strike fear in my heart the way looking a lion or a tiger does. Not saying I want to wrestle one or anything, but they just don't look terrifying.

To your point though, why have an on field mascot at all when you KNOW it is going to divide the fan base. It's like they were asking for this.

that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING STRANGE GOING ON IN OXFORD. You're trying to stir up trouble. You troublemaker.

I feel like I'm back in the 2nd grade, sitting between one kid that stinks and the kid that had lice. Avoid eye contact and pray to make it through the day without either touching me.

if we don't pick the state clean in recruiting then we never will. Of course I fully realize that the desperation level for the Bears is high so the money will definitely be flowing.

However, I get the feeling that instead of losing the top MSrecruits to the Bears we will be losing them to Bama and LSU. Which is why I am starting to worry that Dan will never be able to recruit at a level that will let us take that next step. Or any step, for that matter. I am deeply concerned about this team when the Boyd/Cox class graduates.

I have a small office, pnly me and an associate. I went out on a limb and hired an OM grad, and true fan. I prayed he wasn't the delusional type, and figured it would make for interesting football seasons of talking smack to each other. Fortunately he is not the delusional type, but **** it is not even worth rubbing it in. In fact, I kinda feel bad for him b/c what is going on is downright embarrassing. Not just that they are bad, but the airing of their dirty laundry in public is ridiculous. <div>
</div><div>Not only will they now have trouble getting an AD (as noted above), who in God's name would go coach there. Call me crazy, but I don't think Nutt is the problem. As long as the word "Mississippi" is in your title, you are going to have bad years, period. </div>

regarding ADs is that our fights weren't out in the open as much (Admittedly, it's a big difference). Templeton loved State but he was vilified anyway, much like Boone. Presidents came and went at State and the Templeton issue was a focal point in the hiring process. We had our share of ant-LT psychos - the old guy on the coast comes to mind. It still cracks me up remembering Arrowdog's rants about LT butting in on his conversation with Bailey Howell. Despite all our in-house turmoil, there were plenty of people that wanted the job once LT was gone. That's how it will be when Boone is fired.
