We have no fight this season and we played at about 75% against Northwestern. Now after looking good early we've checked out.

I don't think anyone is wishing for this. Think what you want about the coaches, but no one wants this.

I'd rather watch paint dry than watch this team play football at this point. As much as I ***** about RiIey and his crew, where the hell is the fire from the players? No pride, no urgency. This program is an absolute debacle. Rock bottom has been hit.

Yep. Good job RIley.

It is the job of the coach to inspire the players, right?

Or are you pro-Riley wanks going to tell us this is still Pelini's fault.

Riley supporters are literally out of their minds.

It's a case of Stockholm Syndrome.

Riley needs to go. Eichorst must go, he can't be trusted.

Eichorst was just a puppet hired by Perlman to fire Pelini. As soon as Perlman went behind Osborne's back and signed Eichorst to a ridiculous $1M/yr contract, the writing was on the wall for Pelini.

Eichorst fired Pelini because that's what he was brought in to do, potential replacements be damned. He then called up his buddies Barry and Paul for advice on who to hire, and they pointed him towards Mike Riley, a guy being forced to fire his own buddies after sucking at Oregon State.

If you want the common denominator for the downfall of Nebraska football over the past decade and a half, look no further than Harvey Perlman.

Unless your not a fan of the team and winning why would you want to keep him!! This guy finds a way to lose every week!!

I guess a goodly chunk of the 95 team aren't NU fans anymore.

I have it on good authority Tagge is also very pro Riley

Fyfe and the team was playing well. Then our safety runs himself complete out of Purdue's big run and it all falls apart. Now our line can't block anyone or even snap the ball correctly.

Gross mismanagement from the AD's office and above. AD and above have no way to win the battle of public opinion at this point. They can try to spin it, but people just won't buy it.

That wasn't a safety miss. That was a LB that took a horrible angle. No one wants NU to lose. Be realistic man.

This is on the players. NO EFFORT!!! Pull them all and put those in that want to play. We are going to lose anyway if this bs keeps up.

The same players won 9 games last year. These are the worst coaches in the Big. Eichorst is not an Athletic Director...he is a business guy. We will have a terrible football program until he is gone. This is far worse than the Callahan era. Never thought that would happen.

I don't remember reading that. Riley is doing himself no favors though by putting the worst Husker football team on the field since the 60's.

I honestly don't see it that way. If the players won't compete every play there's nothing you can do.

This staff has underperformed at every venue they've coached. Now they can add "Sucking at Nebraska, too" to their LinkedIn profiles.

You need the right players to run both the offensive and defensive systems they are trying to install. We don't have them. AA masked a lot of our deficancies last year on offense. And defense is obviously to slow at all positions.

It's the coaching staffs job to get them to compete..,if you don't then find the bench. Yet...this staff continues to play the same players who are giving lackluster effort. That's coaching.

Hardly the same players. I agree with the rest of your comments.

My wish was that this was the staff to take Nebraska back to being among the elites in college football.

I was skeptical of the hire. Nothing about his win/loss record screamed elite or the promise of it but let's see what he's got. However I was more skeptical when Banker and Reed were hired because they felt entirely like buddy hires. Regardless I wanted to give them a fair shot and see what they've got.

Here's the thing, when you spend all spring and summer saying this is the guy to take us over the top and his team lays a turd week after week, it's hard not to lose faith. Anyone that expressed skepticism was called names, mocked and trashed at every opportunity.

You combine that with the fact everyone claimed a monkey could win 9 games at Nebraska and then these results show up. That "terrible" coach before won 70% of his games while here which is incredibly impressive. He might not have been able to get the Huskers over the hump but he still won a lot.

I want this staff to succeed and am not ready to throw in the towel. I will say my skepticism grows with every poor performance. I want relevant football in late November, December and January. Having the season be done by week 6 sucks.

When you "pro Riley" does that mean they are in favor of giving him some more time to see what we really have in a coach, or they think he's the best we can do for a HC? I think there's a difference.

I think barring some miracle finish to the rest of season, this is worse than 2007, and I didn't think that was possible. I'm not in favor of musical coaches, and think Riley needs a year or two to get the team fixed, but this is terrible. So does that make me "pro Riley?" I support him coming back next year, but I'm not sure we can't get better coaching than what we're getting now.

What a good coach does is win with the players they have. Clearly the schemes are terrible. All three phases of our team are absolutely terrible. Its the coaching...period.

This "Energy Bus" must be out of fuel. As much as I disliked seeing Bo act like a maniac on the sidelines, seeing Riley just stand there with his mouth open every time isn't much better. I've yet to see him actually "coach" a player on the sidelines.

I'm not a yes man. It's a player's job to execute. PERIOD.
They're doing a great job of executing the incessant passing plays called by this staff on 3rd and short.

You blaming the players is pathetic. I wouldn't want to play for Riley, Langsdorf, and Banker either.
