Well, it took Rick 13 SEC games, but he finally...

played Bost and Bryant together andthe result is awin on the road at UT and a win on the road at Arkansas. I have beensaying and postingall yearthat Bryant should be getting a lot ofBenock's minutes. It's really nice having another ball handler our there and a guard that can rebound. Sad that it took Jalen Steele getting hurt for it to finally happen.

Also, that was probably the best all-around game that Ravern and Kodi have played in 4 years at State.

Great game Dawgs. If we shoot like this in the SEC tournament we will be playing in the finals.

and ended up hitting a nice mid-range shot later in the possession. He played really hard on defense too.

moved Bost to the two and let Bryant play point. Steele getting hurt might be a blessing in disquise

by bringing the ball up the floor and then he gives it to Bost as soon as he crosses mid-court to start the offense. But I like Bryant in there at the 2 just as much. He is not as good of a shooter as Benock, but Benock is only shooting it 2 or 3 times a game anyway. Bryant just brings more to the table. It's frustrating when this has been so obvious to me all year and we are just now seeing it.

Funny because I have thought Bryant was a below average player all year until about 6 or 7 games ago when he started to get some confidence. I think he just had to adjust to being a leader on a JUCO team and now being a role player at a big D1 school with leaders already established in Bost and Augustus. I think once he felt he had the freedom to play his game he turned it on and turned into a good player. He used to play scared and shy. He turned it over in the half court and now he will dribble around people and not pick up his dribble all the time. I think he might be a good player next year. If he keeps up the way he's played the last 2 games, he'll be a huge boost to our team, prolly even bigger than Jalen.

He does, however, add the threat of driving, and he has shown an ability to pull up for a short jumper too. Having another threat to drive (besides Bost) definitely adds to the offense.

I think the reason Stans didn't do this earlier is that Bryant wasn't impressive at PG to start the year. Granted, it's easier to play PG with a playmaker in Bost at SG, but I understand why Stans felt he needed to play Bost extensive minutes at PG and have an outside threat at the 2.

There is a big difference in the speed of the player between the SEC and JUCO ball. He is finally getting used to that and will be a good role player next year for us.

and I'm not saying Bryant is All-SEC. I have just been extremely frustrated that Benock has been getting 33 minutes a game and Bryant has only been used to spell Bost at the point. Bryant is not really an SEC PG. And it's true he is not an outside threat though he has knocked down a couple of jumpers. He just brings a lot more to the table than Benock especially since Bost is our only good ball handler. Not trying to knock Benock, there is certainly a role for him on this team. Benock should spell Ravern at the 3 and get about 15 minutes in the backcourt rotation with Bryant and Bost.

If Phil Turner had gotten hurt last year, maybe Osby would have been used correctly and might still be on the team. Who will it be next year?
