We officially exceeded the objective public expectations for this team. Vegas O/U was 2.5 wins.

Under a normal year with out of conference games, we probably win 6 games. If it weren’t for a dud in the Auburn game, I’d feel real good about where we are. Either way, I do feel a lot better about leach than I did after the Bama game.

Yep. A lot of hot takes between LSU and today, but the full body of work proves this team was exactly what most of us thought they were....a 6-6 team in a normal year that had expected growing pains during a pretty major transition year, but a good foundation set for a bright future.

The biggest thing to me was that we played 10 SEC games, and although we didn’t always play well (especially offensively), we were never outmatched emotionally or physically. Not a single team showed up and punched us in the mouth to make us quit from the outset like we saw multiple times under Moorhead and Mullen. Not even when we had 47 players. Every game except Bama was very much contested into the 4th quarter. In year one, that’s definitely worth something to me.
