There are three spots open for 5-7 teams. It is expected that Nebraska,San Jose State, and Minnesota will fill those slots.

you can't count 6 or 7 loss teams. Those teams suck and nowadays the majority pf d1 teams make bowls. It's not a big deal.

Would be awsome for RU to play defending national champions 2 years in a row. Has that even ever happened to RU before?!
Yes when we played ourselves in practice and played Princeton in 1870.

Based off #1 that season by retro-pollsters using the National Championship Foundation (1869-2000), Helms Athletic Foundation (1883-1982) and Parke Davis (1869-1933):

1869 Princeton
1870 Princeton

1878 Princeton
1879 Yale
1880 Princeton
1881 Princeton (twice)
1882 Yale (twice)
1883 Yale
1884 Yale

1887 Yale
1888 Yale

Those who use bowls are a measurement it stick are morons. It's 2015 not 1988.

Next year's performance has little to do with this year's. It's college football. Iowa was weak last year and looked like an undersized, slow JV team the entire time; especially in the bowl. Totally out classed. Did you watch last night? Their offense was good (but not good enough) and their defense should go down as one of the best in a very long time.

Agreed. How about the fact that we smoked UNC in a game and a year later they were in their league championship game, standing toe to toe with the number one team? Things can change quickly in certain situations, so don't use past bowl games as an indicator for anything.
