no need to be a jack ***... is it not just now becoming official that he signed? any previous posts were prior to him committing and signing.
so I'm going to say, in true MSU fashion, Varnado will go pro (although he'll probably need to take few foreign language classes), and Sidney will end up being ineligible somehow and/or the NCAA will drop the hammer on us.
is on Holcombe and Bailey. After a lackluster sophomore year that ended with an ugly ankle injury, I would bank on him heading elsewhere. With Sidney and Riek in the mix he has to know his ability to compete for playing time just went in the can. As far as holcombe-he likely sees himself in a similar situation having to compete for playing time with Smith entering the mix. No way he bumps any of the guys in the current rotation. Benock would be the only one he could challenge and he is too good of a defender and can get hot behind the arc when he has his confidence.
I heard on another message board that has a reputation for "scooping" that no one was going to have a scholarship pulled, but rather that two players who will see their playing time diminished "pull themselves", or something to that affect.
So, based on the guys that we have coming in, and etc., I'm going to have to take an uneducated guess that the two that Rick is hoping pull are Holcombe, Benock, and maybe Bailey. Depending on whether or not Swat comes back or not.
I guess this is the depth chart as it stands now:
1. Dee, Twany
2. Barry, Phil, Benock, Shaugnessy
3. Kodi (3,4), Ravern (2,3), Holcombe, Lewis
4. Sidney, Osby (3,4)
5. Varnado, Bailey (yes, I know that Bailey will likely move over to the 5 when Swat comes out of the game), Dude from Sudan.
