since we dropped games we shouldnt have to Rider and W. Kentucky, we now have to beat SC and Auburn on the road to get into the NCAA Tourney- right where I thought we would be a couple of weeks ago.

Let's see what kind of magic Coach Standsbury has in his black playbook

Got any more bettin' teeaasuhs for us?

And i guarantee you if we lose to SC and/or Auburn we'll still have a shot to get into the NCAAT.

But not those two road games like you claim. We must win one of those and then win at home vs. Tennessee. That is probably all it takes but hell who knows for sure. I can be sure that JUST winning those two road games does NOT get us in.

we would have to beat Tenn and make the finals of the SEC Tourney to have a chance to get in

from a SC or Auburn loss would probably be too much to overcome for us....thats why I say we have to win both

I get it now....totally forgot we lost to Rider and WK. I simply didn't understand the other 4,975 posts that you stated this fact in. This one cleared it up for me.

We could likely afford a loss to either USC or Auburn (but definitely not both) and still make the tournament. Road losses don't hurt your RPI much, unlike road wins that help it a lot. If we split the 2 road games, the win will help us more than the loss will hurt us, so the overall effect will be positive.

Does anybody get the impression that there are those out there who hope we don't make the NCAA? Sure seems that way. They probably feel that they have been justified in some way.

I do think we could probably afford a road loss at South Carolina though.

I think you guys are overlooking what's most important, and that's the Friday/Saturday games in the SEC tourney. Whether we go 2-1 or 1-2 down the stretch, or even if we go 3-0, we could still get left out if we lose on Friday.

On the other hand, if we go 1-2 or 2-1, we'll have a chance to get some quality wins on Fri/Sat of the SECT since we'll be playing either UT/UF/Vandy. Winning on Friday will get us a quality win, but if we get to Sunday somehow, that might get us in even if we lose to Auburn and USC down the stretch.

our RPI is going to be around 80 and it doesnt matter who we beat down the stretch- it wont be enough to get us back where we need to be...

We'll have to win the Tourney again

Hard to say. If we lose the next two and then finish with wins over UT, UF, and Vandy then it might even out.

Or, if we split the Auburn/USC games and win vs UT, then the Fri/Sat games become very important
