very proud of the team. but, it's quite frustrating, we could have certainly won. in all honesty, though, we weren't two goals better than brazil in the first half, and overall you have to say they had more from the match. sucks to get beat on a set piece, dempsey had a great goal but lost his mark and for some reason we had nobody on the back post. if we hadn't been 2-0 up, it'd be hard to be disappointed right now.

all in all, a good learning experience, fun for the fans, and we have some business to finish in south africa in year's time.

but this was the first time the players really looked disgusted after losing to a Brazil type team. I think it's sinking in they can beat these type teams. Not easily (of course) but they can beat them. They know they let a golden opportunity slip away.

US has had 3 solid performances in a row. Big game whoever we play next in qualifying. Curious how they respond.

And we should be ashamed for having treated it like an "A" tournament in the past.

This is where Adu and others should get more playing time, if they weren't going to play in the Confederations Cup. Hell, I'd even say Beasley could use some time playing there.

Our next qualifier is against Mexico in Azteca! We have a real shot at finally leaving there with a win if we start the same 4-4-2 lineup we saw against Spain or Brazil.

we likely wouldn't have even been playing in the Confederations Cup the past 2 weeks. I do agree with treating it as a B-team tournament this year, but we're not good enough to win that tournament with our B-team players (I hope I'm proven wrong on that).
