Crappy opponent can't make it due to inclement weather-check

Replace crap team with another team at last minute-check

Pitcher for replacement team goes RAT and beats us- check

Rinse and repeat because I am a stupid *** State fan who should know better than to get excited.........check

We'll be fine, but I didn't get my hopes too high for this very reason

We are the same team we were last year. Horrible starting pitching with killer middle relief, with inconsistent to nonexistent hitting.

We are the same team as last year?

As national runner up? I'll take it

I'm just glad we don't have to face their starting pitcher again that dude was money! I think he intimidated our batters with his size. I'm pretty sure he was twice as tall as most of our players.

That was no RAT. He's the best in their conference. I think we outscore them something like 14-4 the next two games and we move past this quickly.

One thing I'll give you. You are posting on the right board . . . The "give up all hope" board is the one for you!

Yep I`ve been an MState fan for many many years and damn proud of it but NOBODY can **** the bed better than us when all the stars line up in our favor for a particular sporting event. We`ll be fine but last night was definitely an MState moment.

I'm not panicing over the loss, but I was very disappointed in Woodruff. I don't know what you do with him.

I was hoping they would leave the first reliever in. Evan Mitchell must have a twin in Carolina.

My point exactly. Not throwing in the towel at all but last night is a microcosm for life as an MSU fan. I fully expect us to take the next two but the events that led to last night came about in just the most MState way possible.

I mean come on: we were to play Hofstra, Mother Nature intervened, and we get Roger 17ing Clemons instead. You gotta laugh (maniacally) at it.

You are correct, Woodruff was the one point of major concern last night. Having the guy who is supposedly your ace have no ability to locate his pitches and only last an inning is a bad sign. We HAVE to have better starting pitching than last year. The other concern was we have a bunch of physically small singles hitters (outside of Rea) and you don't need those hitters lifting the ball in the air. That's just an automatic out. Most of our hitters need to be hitting on top of the ball to utilize our speed.

Expecting to be better than the previous year when your two best bats by far moved on. - check

I have high expectations, but filling the massive holes left by Frazier and Renfroe has worried me since the start. You just don't replace that kind of experience and production.
