Well we may not be given a host spot.

But we certainly earned one and deserve it. 16-14 versus our schedule, plus an amazing non-conference record is pretty stout. Great job by Cohen and his squad.

If the committee looks at what they should, we get one

If you look at the following teams:

Mississippi State
South Carolina
Kansas State
Clemson
Arizona State

4 of those teams will host. You might can argue 1 or maybe 2 teams above us, but you can't argue that the other four have a better resume than us. Headed out to meet friends for dinner or I would actually make a table.

I think K-State and Arizona State are almost certainties due to nothing other than geography. So it comes down to us, South Carolina, and Clemson for the final two spots. You'd like to think that if we get shafted by K-State and A-State on geography alone, then perhaps we get the geography nod by default of not giving the final two spots to the state of South Carolina. Factor in North Carolina and NC-State hosting, that would be 4 host spots to the two-state Carolina region.

I was hoping we would get matched up vs UK instead of Mizzou in opening game in Hoover which would have happened if Mizzou had beaten them today. Mizzou has an RPI of 140 vs 38 for UK. It's pretty important not to pick up a loss to a #140 RPI team right now.

We also need to hope that Arkansas doesn't get hot and go deep into the SEC Tourney. There are plenty of reasons to keep them out right now with a 47 RPI which is only 11th best in the SEC, but picking up a couple of wins vs teams like LSU and Vandy could get their RPI back around 30 in a hurry.

South Carolina squeezing in wouldn't surprise me one bit. They've played for

the last 3 consecutive National championships and won two of them. Just by reputation and prestige, being ranked higher in the polls and finishing higher in the conference might sway some on the committee.
