It takes a big Lib to admit folks on the Right have a point. It takes a confident well centered Conservative to admit the Left makes some valid points. For example, me on the right, agree with the Left that we must take care of our environment, elderly, infirmed, or medically indigent. We just disagree over how best to do that.
Unfortunately, neither side has an honest ability to look past it's own philosophy which I'd argue is the source for Wisdom because nothing is ever "all right" or "all wrong" except pure Truth which is always correct by definition.
Finding out what is correct takes Wisdom, which requires evaluating all sides then eliminating that which is not correct and including that which is found to be correct. Truth is not relative.
You can't have that Wisdom unless you are at least willing to consider the other side to weigh it's arguments against your own. The problem with many on the Left today, is their refusal to even consider anything from the other side as viable. So wedded are they to their ideology, nothing else can compete with it even if it's proven incorrect.
I don't see that problem on the Right, they (we) do at least consider the Left's arguments, we're just usually able to use logic and facts to refute their claims.
The Left runs away from that type of debate, or they lie to make their case, or they simply shut down & try to destroy those who disagree with them.
Sad.
