That's even sadder than if the story had been true. Those people need to spend some time in jail.

It sounded bizarre to begin with.

But who wants to be the one to call bs on a little 3 year old girl and her grandma? Raising ten pit bulls and running a scam... poor kid has quite a family.

It was absurd on its face. KFC turning someone away? Is this one supposed to have had a maitre' d?

That was my thoughts when I first heard the story. When I do go in a fast good place I barely get spoken to much less told to leave.

As soon as the story went cold, I began to think it was a hoax. I didn't expect to feel so bad when I found out it was. This little girl just became a lightning rod due to her own family, and that makes my heart ache. I can't imagine what she's been through or what she'll have to go through for the rest of her life based solely on what those dogs did to her. Add to that the fact that from here on out she'll have to deal with people casting a suspicious eye on her and her family. I don't know why this has gotten to me so much, but I can't stop thinking about her.

I can't even imagine someone going to the KFC staff and complaining.

Patron: Yo maine, that little girl is wigging me out! She needa be outta here.
KFC Worker: Wha?
Patron: That girl dere, she look wierd!
KFC Worker: Uhh.. ok.
Patron: You should throw her out.
KFC Worker: Huh? Uhh.. Whuh? You wanna order a biscuit or somthin'?

Any scenario where a KFC worked is instantly and highly motivated to leave the safety and security of the area behind the counter in order to confront a little girl and her grandmother to make one of the other scary patrons feel better just doesn't pass the smell test. This is ******** that the family never expected to get this out of hand. Mixed emotions here because KFC is gonna do the right thing, call ******** but still honor the $30,000 for the little girl. Part of me feels good about that because it's not the little girls fault. But, my overwhelming sense of justice will be dissatisfied because the grandmother should be punished and I wish KFC would go after her, which they won't. Oh well...

im hoping someone already is in jail for child neglect or abuse. If you have a child you shouldn't have a dog with an unpredictable temperament (enter "it's nuuut the dawwwg it's the ownah!" Idiots) like a pit bulldog that mutilated the kid.

And if there is a hint of fraud now, these scum should be thrown in prison.

I agree, story seemed odd and unlikely to begin with. I hope KFC finds a way to pay the doctors/hospitals direct, so that the family never handles the cash.

Coincidentally I have a rental house, and my tenants dog was attacked and killed by a loose pit bull last weekend while tenant's wife was walking it in the subdivision. Apparently the moron owner on an adjacent street had a wireless electric fence for a pit,, so the dog had a documented history of just running off everytime it became fixated on something outside the yard. It had acted aggessively towards neighbors but never attacked anything until then. I feel terrible about it, and have been working my *** off to make sure the incident has publicity and the local PD holds this guy accountable. This is a nice subdivision FULL of small kids and harmless family dogs.

KFC has truly taken a huge financial hit. All the liberal media jump on this story from day damming KFC. It will take years for the locally owned KFC to overcome this image.

I'm going glass-half-full here and think it's great that KFC's still ponying up the money. I feel bad for the family (well, some of the family) and the overwhelming expenses they were facing, but trying to grift your way out of it...

The Leader-Call did have a great description of Nancy Grace in that story.

I too am glad KFC will honor the donation but I hope like hell they only agree to pay directly to medical facilities and pharmacies. If those idiot adults are written a check, it will be spent on smokes and lottery tickets.

Both grandparents need to be in jail, the grandfather for attempted murder and the grandmother for embezzlement. At this point anybody who owns a Pitt bull that kills or injures someone should be tried as is it whee them.

That's the story that people aren't focusing on enough is why do you have 10 pit bulls in a house with small kids. They also raised 130k$ plus the 30k from kfc.

We just had to lawyer up in my neighborhood to get rid of some pit bull mix

dogs. It clearly states in our covenants that no Chows or Pit Bull mixes are allowed. The guy still made us go to great lengths to hold his *** accountable but he got to pay all the court and lawyer fees because he dumbass lost.

I hadn't heard that it was a hoax until now. Last I heard, a plastic surgeon from Las Vegas was donating his time and services to the little girl. I hope he still does for the girl's sake, but as many have said, the parents should be in jail for fraud. And I hope KFC retracts the $30K they were giving. They seem to have no liability whatsoever. Those parents are beyond ludicrous.

No doubt, it was not good for the local franchise but I wouldn't say it'll take years to overcome this.

It's a fast food place in MS, they will be ok I think.
