How long is Lewis out for?
SEC play always seemed to take its toll on Stans' freshmen and this team is depending on so many freshmen. Hopefully Ray's guys have more endurance. If not, I'm afraid the second half lag will increase as the season progresses. We need all the minutes we can muster.

Season ending injury. He might get a medical redshirt for another year, so we will see.

It's ashame too, because Lewis was just starting to figure it out.

His physical presence would have helped enormously in the SEC this year. Hopefully he will get the extra year.

Lewis was in a perpetual state of

"just starting to figure it out." Then he'd miss 2 point blank layups and a dunk.

I really hope he applies for the redshirt.

I don't ever wish injury on anyone, but I think this could work out well. Him not getting injured when he did was going to make little to difference in our overall record. Maybe one win. But next year, with another year in Ray's system, I think he could be a huge difference maker. He was starting to figure it out and I believe next year will be more valuable to this team. He has speed and athleticism and he can create mismatches that I think we can exploit.

His attitude had clearly changed. The skill set may not be the best, but it was obvious he had improved under Ray and was buying in to what Ray was selling. If he can recover to 100%, I think he can really shine next year. We need a 4/5 guy with some athleticism. Gavin isn't there yet, but he's working toward it. Wendell should help take the pressure off of Gavin and give us a post option that we are severely lacking right now.

I will add that I haven't seen Ndoye play, so I really have no clue what he brings to the table in terms of athleticism or how well-trained of a post player he actually is. Can anyone shed some light on that?

Well prior to his injury. His final 2 games, he put up some big numbers. 20 pts 5 rb & 16 pts 12 reb.

One thing Ray is doing an outstanding job of is not overworking his players any more than he has to. Even with only 8 players, yesterday only 1 played more than 27 minutes (and he only played 33). It was common for Stans to have guys averaging 36 minutes a game. This year, nobody's averaging more than 29.9. That should help us not get worn down as bad as we might have.
