Well, under Stans they both partied all night and didn't give 110% on the court
I have no problem with players having lives. I have a problem with kids being at fraternity houses drinking until 2 or 3 the night before games and losing said games after leading by 10+ in the last part of the second half (fixed).
Kodi Augustus used to be the life of the party. It's nothing new, but it erks me when I read on this board how these guys give 110% effort and Ray has these guys in check. Nothing has changed since Stans' outting (except the talent level), and I say that as someone who wanted Stans out for a long time.
From the mouth of a friend who works for the athletic department none of the players like our best player either because he tells on them for things like that. At this point I'd rather have more thugs and a scumbag coach who gets the good ones to come to MSU for a year. Pretending that this team gives a **** is pathetic.
At least now they give 110% on the court. I haven't seen anyone suggest that Ray refuses to allow any shenanigans of any sort. In fact, I also haven't figured out how a 3rd failed piss test is the exact same as your "buddy" says our new players are at the frat house until 2-3 a.m. I guess in your mind, 1 offense = 3 offenses, drinking = failed piss tests, etc...
If nothing had changed since Stans' firing, we'd have won zero games last year and shown absolutely no signs of life, because his players did not play hard for him the last several years. They did play hard for him at the beginning, but that all changed many years ago. You'd rather have thugs come to MSU for one year? To what, play in the NIT? When was the last time we had a 1 and done because he went to the NBA? That's just a dumb comment.
Bottom line: if you can't look at the on-court play from last season compared to the one prior and see the difference, and that if Ray had the same talent Stans had who played the way our guys did last year then we would be successful, then I just don't know what to tell you other than to open your eyes. If your entire complaint is "kids are still acting like kids" then perhaps you need to think it through a little further.
Ray may not be successful in the end, but these comments are just silly.
So, I feel confident in saying that despite your knowledge of what is going on, you still don't know jack ****. And that is just from reading your posts on the subject in this thread. Doesn't take inside sources to deduce that. I do feel bad for Jalen. Loved that guy and you are right that he seemed to do everything right. But he is hurt and couldn't or wouldn't play this year. The numbers just didn't work anymore. I wish him the best.
