somebody is probably having a conversation with someone in security about how they can't just let people wander around the stadium at will.

..I was surprised to see doors to the press box propped open and all the lights on yesterday, but it looked like they were re-working some air ducts. Unless you've got somebody who's unauthorized going into the club level or suites on the east side, there's really nothing that can be damaged.

i know i used it several times last year when people were wandering around looking for the tent. i would rather we have it up somewhere on campus instead of wasting money bringing it in every year for the holidays of which the campus shuts down anyways. having it right in the middle of the junction isn't necessary though. i am sure we could move it over by frat row so that it could be properly decorated by beer cans and condoms.

They have been at it for at least a month and not jack has been done. They have tied some rebar cages, put up some fencing and parked some equipment on site. Hey slow down! I'm sure there's a job trailer where the super is napping right now.

The soil underneath Starkville is basically hard, Prairie Bluff Chalk overlying Demopolis Chalk. Trying to drive piles would be like using a sledge-hammer to drive a nail into a metal beam.

By drilling 15-20' into the unweathered Chalk, which would be around 10-15' beneath the surface, you not only give the Jumbotron proper support against settlement, but you counteract the volume change aspects of the weathered chalk, which can approach 120%. Anyone who's driven around Jackson or lived in a house in Hinds, Madison, or Rankin counties knows what living under high-volume-change soil is like.</p>

Back during the east side construction, I walked in and took a look around.

Like you, I went into the press box and was kinda suprised at how old it looked. The doors, folding tables and chairs, bathrooms....etc. I guess 1984 was a long time ago. Although, I hear we have one of the fastest internet connections of SEC press boxes. Don't laugh...just what I heard. Suprised LT allowed an internet connection in there anyway. Anyway, I certainly didn't hurt anything. As a matter fact, in the AD's room (I will not call it a suite) a refrigerated cooler was running. There was nothing in it. So, I unplugged the SOB. This was like mid summer that I took this tour.

to the unviersity's wireless network in the stadium, and I have never had any speed issues with it there.

The stadium is a great place to experience a great view at night. But, when the stadium isn't open, security is not to excited about people that take advantage of that opportunity. Oh wait, I mean campus police. Showing my age a little there.

..I haven't officially deemed it a life-goal yet, but I'd love to be entitled to football tickets in the 200 level one day.
