Andre, I think you got your wish on the Offensive side of the ball. Not sure if more are to come, but I am excited to think of what prospects he could possible bring to Lexington. He has to have some hook ups.

I haven't been happy with Coach Stoops press releases.....particularly when he said we were closer this year. We were not. We beat Vandy last year and lost by an interception against Louisville and a questionable call with Florida.

We barely beat ULL and Eastern at home this year. We lost to an extremely poor Vandy team after having the ball first and goal what?????four times? Continually failed to make third and short or fourth and short. Lost to the most over-rated Auburn team of ten years. No quality wins.....Missouri turned out to be a mess and South Carolina was living on a prayer all year. The team again showed no fire when the losses started, and almost displayed a curl up don't hit me attitude. Mississippi State manhandled this team and a Tennessee team that is pretty much at the same stage of development as far as frosh/ soph just made our team look like high schoolers. Georgia was supposedly at the verge of a melt down and our kids just came out with a 'who, US???' attitude.


There were inexcusable game management screw ups and repeated on field player mistakes that not only continued, but got worse.

Next year already looks like a taller mountain than I had hoped.

From what I remember, he didn't use the "history" of UK football as an excuse. He said knowing the history, he can understand the fans frustrations.because they've been waiting a long time. That's what I took from it, at least.

He also said he loved the fans at the basketball game and how passionate they are, and wants to provide that for the football fans as well. Said it bothers him to think he has disappointed people who are looking for that. Then went on to say, "We WILL get it done here. I promise you that." Of course, everybody will pick that apart, but that's exactly what I want to hear from my head coach. It's an interview and he's not on the sidelines doing an interview.

I could hear the fire he has and I absolutely feel he has a blue collar mentality. If he doesn't get it done here, it's not because he's not giving every single thing he has and right now, that's what I want.... someone to bust their tail to get this program where it's never been.

He has a lot of learning to do as a coach, but like Rich Brooks said, he's a "rookie" head coach and these things happen as you grow.

I should have been more clear in that I didn't as much mean to say he was using it as an excuse as he should know that's how it is going to come out and be perceived anyway, and should stop saying it. It's not helping him. The fans already know the past all too well and there is just no point in reminding them of it.

HIs implied point is, you have to be more patient. And even though that's right in general, the past is the exact reason this particular fan base doesn't want to hear that. There just has not been a fan base whose patience has been worn thin than UK Football.

It sounds logical to him and many others to think . . . there's never been any sustained success here in 60 years so you have to be patient, but what he fails to understand is this fanbase is past patience and wants a savior now! And to his credit he created part of that hope in how well he got started. So it's no as much a criticism of him as a tip - dont' use the past reference. Just say, I know everybody has suffered long enough and wants to win now and by damn we're going to do our best to do that. That's all.

And like you I believe he will kill himself to do it.

I think running the ball up the middle out of shotgun 3 plays in a row needing one yard for a TD is what killed the team IMO. Even with that trick play. We should've won. Coaching staff left 17 points on the field that day

calling him a hypocrite is silly? He said this team is significantly better than last years team. His words were that this team is wayyyyyy better than the year before and for everyone to come out and be 'all in' for a special season. To now saying just because we have a renovated stadium it doesn't mean he can just wave a magic wand and put a good team on the field. Considering what he said before the season, to what he said yesterday. It really couldn't have been anymore hypocritical. It's called making excuses for poor play, he's really good at it. To me it's just further proof he's in way over his head, that and the zero experience staff he put together and the fact he's still not hiring an ST coach after the frequent disaster that was our special teams just screams way in over his head. And to say it's silly calling him a hypocrit, is just downright hilarious I guess there's a definition for the word hypocrit that I just don't know about so maybe you're right. But to say a team is significantly better, to then saying he can't just wave a magic wand and put a good team on the field. Is just another excuse out of a long line of excuses to save face. I really don't see how he could've been anymore hypocritical and for you to say it's silly to call him that is straight comedy.

Example: The CEO of a company might expect to have one of the best year's in the companies history. Then, it doesn't turn out as expected for various reasons. That doesn't make him/her a hypocrite.

So yes, it's silly to label someone that because of how they felt before the season started even though it didn't go the way they thought. That's not the definition of a hypocrite.

An even better example: I warn or ban people on here for name calling. Then, I get on here and attack people by calling them names. THAT, is what we would call a hypocrite

Too defensive. Reminded me of Joker on post game shows after yet another loss. Joker knew the length of the radio segments and knew if he spent most of a segment answering a single question he would field fewer questions during the show. Stoops kept on extending his answers seemingly to burn clock. Anyone who keeps saying, 'you know what I mean' isn't sure of what he's saying, needs reinforcement.

Having said that, I still support Stoops. GBB

Some of the problems on this team have absolutely nothing to do witth it being in year 3 of a rebuild. Frankly it was an epic failure by the coaching staff

Did you even listen to the words he said? He did take responsibility. The guy can't win with some of you folks.

Just what does it mean when a coach takes responsibility? It doesn't mean a damned thing. He didn't quit, he didn't tear up his contract extension, he didn't give back any of the money, It means Jack Shat when a coach takes responsibility. We're stuck with him.

The reason he is a hypocrite. Is because after the season he said just because we have a renovated stadium doesn't mean he can wave a magic wand and put a good team on the field. When previously before the season, he said for us to expect a much improved team and to enjoy a special season because of the much improved product he's fielding. That's a definite contradiction therefor making him a hypocrite. I really don't get the point you're trying to make. Considering what he said before the season, and the fact he said he can't just wave a magic wand and put a good team on the field after the season does in fact make him a hypocrite. Jeez. just because things didn't work out the way he expected, that's one thing. But after things don't work out the way he expects and then for him to say he can't just wave a magic wand and field a quality football team. Is a completely different thing. If you really want to defend the excuses he comes up with then be my guest, you can have at it. I'm just not going to partake in being a stoops apologist.

CMS was supposedly a great DC. After watching his defensive schemes for the last three years, there is nothing you can point to that makes you think his coaching is special. Has he ever made good game adjustments that gives you an ounce of confidence? I wish someone would ask him how much tape of UofL he and his staff actually watched. It is one thing to say that UofL changing QBs caught the coaches off guard, but not to understand how incredulous it would sound to both knowledgable fans and idiotic fans like me, is simply off the charts. There is no questioning CMS's salesmanship talent, but can only have great doubts about CEO management skills and game day adjustments capability.

No way should they have been caught "off guard." The game before against Pitt Bolin was pulled was pulled for Jackson when he wasn't getting it done.

Every team has injuries.

I agree. However, UK is not nearly deep enough, yet, to overcome injuries at important positions. They especially can't overcome losing guys like Boom, Lewis & McGinnis. However, another year or 2 of recruiting should improve UK's depth up to SEC standards. An example of that... Stoops has already said that he wants to improve the depth @ kicker & punter by targeting talented preferred Walk-ons.

I don't think that they were caught off guard nearly as much as the fact that they were out of gas. It was 24-10 with under 4 left in the 3rd quarter. That's when things started to unravel. Jackson had been in the game for a good while at that point. But, the O had way too many 3 & outs, turnovers, penalties, etc., in the .2nd half and as the 4th quarter approached, the D was gassed. When D players wear out, that's when mental mistakes occur... they start playing sloppy, missing tackles, blowing assignments, losing contain, etc.
