I found out that he indeed hurt his shoulder and is not pitching for Harrison Central this year. He is still playing first base for them from what I understand.

Someone asked me yesterday.

I may be wrong. Do you think this sways him to walk on and try and earn a scholly at football? Just curious...

Every recruiting article about him I've read on BDJ talks about how much he loves baseball and how that's his sport.

We do want him as a pitcher. He was consistently at 91-92 and topped out at 94 pre-injury. He is supposed to be healed up by the fall, so we'll see. He also hit .512 with 6 HR's last year, so he can play first if he can't pitch.

Hey Todd,<div>Wes won't make it through the first day of baseball practice if he doesn't drop some pounds. Also, his summer competition says he is usually in the 84-86 range not in the 90's. I'm not saying he hasn't hit 94 but I don't think he throws there consistently.</div>

I wonder if the summer competition that was facing him was facing him after he hurt his arm. I don't know.

I'm not too worried about his weight. He is already at 260. He just has to keep on losing it. Besides, there are plenty of fat baseball players out there. John Kruk, Babe Ruth, Boog Powell, Big Papi. I'm not saying that he will end up like all of them, but as long as he keeps losing weight, I think he will be OK, even if he is on the heavy side.
