It seems he has ended every rally we've had this weekend. This weekend is just his fault, but he's played a big part with his anemic bat

I want to say he hit into a double play twice yesterday with bases load. When it comes to killing innings has been worse than Demarcus Henderson lately.

I said at the beginning of the season that I thought he deserved to lose his spot if he had even an ounce of the monster slump he had last season.

He's had the worst batting average on the team for most of the season and he deflates the team it seems at least once a series.

He does just enough to keep his job. I think against A&M he swung at 3 straight pitches for a strikeout TWICE in a row. The next game he hit a homerun and everyone was back up his ***. He's great on D, but how far does that go though? It's not like anyone we put there would be that large of a drop off.

Sometimes a guy deserves to ride the pine until he can get his **** together. Bench him for the next series.

Am I missing something? Wes Rea 1B for MSU is batting .308 in SEC play and has as many RBI as Renfroe.

He keeps

his job because, firstly, he's probably one of the top 1B in the league (defensively).

Not here to defend Rea...

as he was 0-3 yesterday but he didn't hit into any double plays though he did fly out with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 7th. CT lined into a DP with the bases loaded and 0 outs in the 6th which was a huge play in the game as just another foot to the right and it would have been a 2 RBI single with still 1st and 2nd and no outs (side note: I was at the game with a good view and our man at 2nd base was back before the throw -- Cohen ran out of the dugout immediately and I've about decided that some of these SEC umps like to screw us over on close calls just because they don't like Cohen).

Yesterday's yesterday is Saturday. I think he hit into two double plays on Saturday. The only game I saw was Saturday's game. I agree with you about the umpires, especially the 1st base ump during the Friday game aGAINst the cheAUters.

Got you, I was out of pocket for the game Saturday so didn't really catch much of the details.

Believe that idiot, Cohen, isn't batting him 4th!!!1

Not to bust a good meme here (thats exactly what I'm going to do) but in SEC play...

Rea is 2nd only to Renfroe in slugging.
Rea is 3rd only to Pirtle and Renfroe in on-base percentage
Rea is 2nd only to Renfroe in RBI's

I'd still bat him 4th. I'm not going to let a damn 3 game sample size affect my judgement there.

I think

you misunderstood the point of the post. It was directed at people calling out Cohen for not batting Rea cleanup, and instead putting Frazier, Detz, Renfroe & Pirtle ahead of him. While Rea does have more RBIs in SEC play, he also didn't languish at the bottom 1/3 of the lineup for half the year (nearly). Also, by putting Pirtle in front of Rea, it's allowed Rea to have more opportunities with guys on base it seems. Hell Pirtle has 27 hits (second only to Renfroe) in SEC play, half as many K's as Rea, has hit into half as many DPs as Rea, and has a considerably higher OB% (not to mention that we're 7-3 with Pirtle in the 4 spot ahead of Rea). Again, my point was that it's not that outrageous of an idea to have Rea hitting behind Frazier, Detz, Renfroe, & Pirtle.
