As also mentioned in a post months ago. Something needs to happen with this. Transfers have always been a part of High school athletics wether its family moves, academics, or personal reasons. The current rules in place in my opinion are being exploited in ways that hurt the integrity of High school sports. The reason I believe the state should act, but probably won't lets be honest, is because one, it creates a unfair advantage competitively, two, undermines the educational mission, but I understand the arguments against my case, three, Weakens schools programs and puts coaches from other schools in no win situations, four, enforcement is too lax or nonexistent as I have seen from certain school boards or systems argue that one all you want!! Five, precedent from other states such as Georgia, Texas, among others who have taken tougher stances on enforcement if rules are broken. Lastly, if the State Board doesn't step in and enforce some rules on this it will widen the gap between the values of what High School athletics is or all about which is development through learning fundamentals and how to play the game or sport along with Community pride and a good support system which you lose. This isn't about punishing kids and shouldn't be, but rather keeping the focus on what High School sports are all about which is creating a level playing field!!
