Alright, the time has come. Now, who do we play?

1. Glenbard West - 7A or 8A?
2. OPRF - Is their QB hurt? They are now a team to watch in 8A.
3. Hinsdale Central - Allen suspended, no defense. They better get it together quick.
4. Hinsdale South - On a roll. Who do they play in the 1st round?
5. Lyons - Meh, lost to York?

Here's the thing with Hinsdale South, they are going to get a top seed in the 1st round. Might even be SHG, that would be insane. That's a semi-final/state championship matchup in the 1st round, I really hope they don't do that. I personally think it's Lemont, Riverside-Brookfield or SHG. If it's Riverside-Brookfield, South beats them by 30. Lemont would be tough and SHG would be the state championship game in the 1st round (I'm joking and exaggerating so don't go crazy people). They beat all of those teams, IMO.

I'll let the GBW guys tell us about what they think will happen with their team. No sense in me rambling about something they know a lot more about.

Man, Hinsdale Central has kind of let me down. What's up with that defense? Allen suspended game 1? Almost lost to a 6A school? I still think they are a quarterfinal team, but they really need to wake up and get it together.

Lyons, I was never really high on them all year. They're an average team and I honestly think they'll be bounced in the 1st round. Congrats to them making the playoffs, it's not as easy as most probably think.

OPRF, I kind of dogged them most of the year but they've proved me wrong. We shall see though, a lot of it depends on their match up in the 1st round.

After taking a closer look, appears HS will likely be a 13 seed playing the 4th seed. This looks like it will be Thornton (if I got the 3rd tie-breaker (combined wins versus team you beat) right between Thornton and Lemont).

As I see it, the only way this does not happen is that if Galesburg (4-4) gets in. In this case HS moves up to the 12th seed and would play the 5 seed. Oak Forest appears to be likely 5th seed in this scenario.

In order for Galesburg to get in, they have to beat Canton, MI (6-2) to finish 5-4 with plenty of points.

At the end of the day, tough 1st round game for HS. Should be exciting

I don't see how it can be Lemont. I think we would have to drop to 14th seed, not sure that can happen. Or, Lemont end up the 4th seed. Both Lemont and Thornton are 8-1 with 42 points. next tie-breaker is total wins versus defeated teams. For Lemont I have 36 (42 minus 6 for loss to 6-3 Richards) and for Thornton I have 33 (42 minus 9 for loss to LWN). This puts Lemont at 3 and Thornton at 4. Thus I think we get Thornton in the 4-13 matchup.

So if you want Oak Forest, and I do too after thinking about the 2012 loss, we must pull for Galesburg over Canton, MI. This would push HS up to 12 seed and a 5-12 matchup with Oak Forest.

Man, nice work, can't argue with any of that. I just think if they play Oak Forest they pound them. I don't know much about Thornton.

Just looked at Thornton's schedule. They beat Lincoln Way West, lost to Lincoln Way North by 2. Give me Oak Forest, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.

@hornetnation7 You're the man and are now officially a legend in my book. Well done sir.

I'm rooting for Galesburg. Thornton scares me a little bit after looking at their schedule. They're tested and quick. Similar to Hinsdale South.

I would not want to play in Harvey in the first round. Truthfully though, I've seen Thornton and oak forest play this year and it's pick your poison. Fast and athletic or grind ya down. I think if that lwn/Thornton game was at Thornton it may have been different.

100% agree with you. I would take Oak Forest 100% of the time.
