GOW: OPRF @ GW: A GW win gives them outright WSS title, an OP win gives them share of WSS title. So it's GOW.
GW impressed me last week, especially the o-line. They put the ball on the ground 60 times for 275ish yards against an above-average defense. But the OPRF defense is collectively much bigger and more athletic than the HC defense. So the match up between the GW run game and the OPRF defensive front is something you might get excited about. Cox will be the fastest player on the field, but he's going to be on grass. Not sure who I give the nod too in this match up.
OPRF offense can explode on any play given the athleticism of McGill, Robinson and Bryant, but if we're being honest you have to qualify that with the fact that the OPRF pass attack is close to a non-threat. I suspect Hetlet will be bringing heat on almost every down and I am struggling to see how OPRF will be able to move the ball offensively.
Prediction: After seeing GW last week I have to give them the nod. Hetlet gets the most out of his players on every play and they are gamers in clutch situations (3-3 on 4th downs last week and 10-16 on 3rd). The offense will find ways to score on a defense that will be bigger and faster than them, while I can't see the OPRF offense exploding on more than a couple plays that ultimately won't be enough. The Hitters reign as the uncontested sovereign for yet another year in the West Suburban Silver conference: OPRF 14 GW 24
HC @ LT: HC shouldn't have too many issues I don't think, but classic rivalries always throw an element of unpredictability into things. I think HC will also be a little down after failing to claim the conference title: HC 28 LT 7
DGS @ DGN: Sitting at 4-3 with the Willobrook Warriors waiting for DGS in week 9, this is do or die for DGS. This is also do or die for DGN. I'll flip a coin---which is to say I'll side with my home conference---DGS 21 DGN 22
PW @ York: PW 12 York 38
What's the board thinking here?
