My two cents is that they are very similar teams. Biggest difference is that if HC coaches ever figure out that 7 at QB and a downhill running game plan beats just about anyone else in the state, they will beat HS. If they stay cute trying to play the finesse game with 12 at QB, the game is close.

Of course that is predicated on having the HS team that played this week or vs GW. If HS brings their A game, it will be a toss up.

If HS plays to it's strengths, attack and not become predictable they can play with anyone. However, if they allow HC to dictate the terms of how the game is played and become predictable, it could be a long day.

Both teams have playmakers (HS maybe a few more), so the intangibles will be key factors.

Really, didn't south lose to a 3-3 Willowbrook team that just struggled with Morton? Good luck!

I think HC beats HS pretty handily. HC has much more depth, did not tire and played a more refined GBW team than HS did. No disrespect to HS, it very well may just be a size factor. Larger schools have a bigger talent pool.

Agree @jdhitters , that's why South is one of the most battle tested teams when they get to the 6A playoffs. Playing teams like DGS (8A), HC (8A), GBW (8A), etc gets them ready. They just have to beat Morton and Leyden and then they are good. I don't expect them to beat HC, just wanted to hear what you guys had to say.

In regards to playoffs, I still think GBW, HC, OPRF & LT come out of the Silver. I think it might just be HS (projected 39-40 PP's) out of the Silver.

DGS (projected 47 PP's)
AT (projected 36 PP's)
Willowbrook (projected 30 PP's)
Leyden (projected 35 PP's)
They all beat each other up and looks like if AT & Willowbrook go 5-4 they're out of playoffs. If DGS does go 5-4 they'll have enough playoff points to get in. DGS vs Willowbrook, whoever wins that is in the playoffs. Lose and you're done.

For now, HS should focus on Leyden.

Yes, that is why I said "if".
If HS plays well, they handle GBW for 3 qtrs, possibly beat HC. If they don't, they lose to a 3-3 WB team. Just my observation/opinion.
