Leyden is a tough team, they've almost beat Lyons and have pretty much hung/almost beaten every team they've faced this year. All 3 of their losses are by a total of 11 points. South is back on track after demoralizing AT last week 42-14. I'm going with South in this game, won't be easy at all but I'm going to tell you guys right now that South will be on a roll from here on out. They won't be HC, but once they hit the playoffs and start playing other 6A teams, it'll be time to take notice. Leyden has to have this game and win out to make the playoffs, they won't have enough playoff points with 5 wins.

Glenbard West (6-0) vs Oak Park (6-0)
Glenbard West has flexed its muscle and they will do it again this week against OPRF. I have a feeling this is a blowout. I'm not going against GBW the rest of the year, unless they end up in 8A and play Loyola. They are clicking right now, they've had their wake up call already and they aren't going to let that happen again. I'd be afraid to play them right now. If Brodner isn't Mr. Football this year I don't know who is.

I know, I know. I just don't think LT is on the level of HC & GBW. Taking a gamble on that one.

Now this is bold. I do agree on GW/OPRF that it might not be as close as some think. Funny but GW on turf is a different team so Friday will be interesting. Here's hoping the guys on OP are healthy considering post about possible injured guys.

I will slightly disagree on the HC LT game though. I don't think LT will score on HC and HC is going to take out years of frustration on LT as they start to zero in on OPRF for week 9. That on could be 49-0.

Bold call on Morton as well. They always seem to be a couple of plays from victory and it would be nice to see them get over the hump. In the two years we played Morton, those kids played with enormous heart.

The Downer bowl is, I'm sorry for saying this, just ugly. DGS has been dropped by Soucie from the playoffs and I just can't figure out what is happening there. Maybe DGN plays this week, who knows?

The battle of Downers Grove looks interesting in terms playoff qualifiers as one of the DG teams will be eliminated this weekend. DGN, DGS and York are still alive with four losses, but they need to win out to make the playoffs with these remaining games.

DGS : DGN, Willowbrook, Proviso East
DGN: DGS, York, Proviso West
York: Proviso West, DGN, Lyons

York probably has the toughest path, but it's possible they could win out. York has already defeated Leyden and Willowbrook from the Gold in crossovers and held OPRF to 21. Unlike the previous few years where LT is the team needing to win out to make the playoffs, it appears that LT is already in with five wins and 29 pts. Though, with tough games against HC and OPRF the next two weeks they will probably be up for York in week nine to enter the payoffs on a win.

Unbelievable that it's week 7. What a great season, so far. Sticking with Silver, DGS wins by 3, HC wins by 40 (at least), and York wins by 14.

GW will beat OPRF by 30. I haven't heard anything about OPRF injuries, but GW remains pretty healthy after the battle with HC last Saturday. I like OPRF ' s program, and they have lots of skilled players. But I think this season is a rebuild year on offense, while their defense is solid. I think HC is slightly better across all areas of the game when compared to OPRF. GW needs to takes care of business, nothing fancy.
