Akron was an average team last year but they have a coach who has won in the MAC.
MAC can occasionally produce quality teams like what Groce had at Ohio but don't think he has it yet at Akron..

Don't know much about their team but you would think WVU will win easily.

We need to start quick!! Last year we lost our first game and it was a downhill slide from there. Start fast!!

If they don't you check on rebounds.

Most teams look to spread you out on the perimeter.

Pretty much the reason why you need bigs who can play on the outside.

But the majority of college basketball teams throw up threes now.
Sometimes they make the shot and other times they don't no matter the D.

Health cooperating this is a team that will improve at a great rate compared to alot of other teams as the season goes. Even with that, it's great to get this season going. And with the promise Bridges showed the other night already a bright light for next year Here's to good luck with good health.

For a kid that is athletically overwhelmed by this level Harler is awful mouthy with some attitude, I've noticed that for a few years. How he hasn't gotten knocked out by some teammates escapes me, although I admit I used to laugh my *** off when Bolden and West would refuse to throw him the ball on the wing no matter how open he was and he would be throwing his arms up losing his mind

I would love to see this team mix in a little 1-3-1 just cause. Haley-matthews Culver oscar-McCabe. Long arms and shot blockers. Traps. Different things to gameplan for.

So Harler and McBride can leave their guards open for 3 all night and get out scored and just rack up minutes McCabe and even oscar get a foul sit on the bench all night. Who was the assistant coach that talked him into allowing Van Exel to play? The rare player with an offensive pulse that huggs hasn't had a blatant personal problem with I like McCabe, I hope for his own sake he transfers out, tomorrow morning and not later, Oscar probably made mistake too

Take the minutes played for this game, copy and paste it to next friday in Oakland, and it's a 20 plus point loss. 20 plus could be 20, 30, or 40, but at least 40. It's not even just coaching style. Like he takes a personal disliking to a certain type of player and just punishes them. Makes no sense. Holding on to 2 yards and a cloud of dust offense in a spread offense era and expecting some different result. I don't get it.

Good to know he's still doing this ****.

Oscar wouldn't rebound. McCabe was just dribbling and not moving the ball or running the offense. Simple as that. Do your job or sit the bench.

Didn't many of you complain about Huggs playing Ahmad too much because he would do things he shouldn't? Hypocrite much?

Exactly. I don’t think some people watch the games and WATCH the games. McBride is a true freshman and was more of a spark plug. Seems like McCabe wanted to dribble out front and look cute. Move the ball or move along.

Mc Cabe doesn't appear to dribble with purpose, like driving to get open, or driving to set up a pass, or passing instead of dribbling. McBride reminded me of an older version of Daxter. The announcers kept talking about our height all night but it felt like we were getting out rebounded on both ends. We are a long ways yet from a team, although there is lots of talent available.

Not impressed with Oscar game 1.
McBride like his speed and potential as a super defender and can score.
Liked the way this team now drives to the basket to score.
Defense same problems but not as bad as last year.
Culver, when will you learn how to pass the ball and to slow down. Quit playing 100 miles an hour.
Majority of the team played really well.
McBride IMO will be the 6th man. He can play the 1 and 2. Will still get 20 to 25 minutes playing both positions.
