Winning this game by a blowout doesn't sway the "hot seat" meter any. It's the NEXT game that matters. Now, if we squeak by with a win or lose, then he's done for sure....no matter what.

I think we can safely conclude defense is the problem. All those DBs that transferred hurt us and Mesidore leaving hurt too.

Someone should walk down and fire him now. Like right now.
That reminds me of the time Reggie Jackson made an error in the field and Billy Martin took him out of the game right then, without waiting for the half inning to end.

I'm not trying to be an HCNB apologist here, but I think people may be mis-estimating how hard it is going to be to do well at WVU and similar schools in this new era of the transfer portal and NIL.

Every school has to deal with the transfer portal and NIL stuff. We are still 0-2 including a home opener loss to Kansas in a night game. Pretty sad

Everyone deals with it and no reason Oklahoma State or Baylor should be head and shoulders better off than WVU in the same climate.

I agree everyone has to deal with it, but my thesis is that the OSUs and Baylors and WVUs and PItts and Kansases will be hit harder by it than the Texases and Oklahomas. WVU is 0-2 with losses to Pitt and Kansas but they were both close losses. I bet when WVU plays Texas in two weeks it's not going to be close.

I agree that WVU should be able to compete well with the OSUs and Baylors, but I think while those teams will compete well with each other, they're not going to be able to compete well with the Texases. I hope I'm wrong.

The point is that Brown is failing to even sniff the accomplishments of similarly situated programs. I'm not saying WVU is going to be Oklahoma or Bama. Never thought that was possible. I always thought WVU's ceiling was a solid program that with a moon shot that the right players would come together at the right time to have a magical season and possible nip a championship vs teams WVU would never beat in a best of 3 series. See UGA in the 2005 Sugar Bowl. No way we beat UGA a second time after that bowl.

Just in case anyone is interested, the pointspread for this game was WVU -39 and the over/under was 58.5.

Some thoughts from the game:
- We’ll go for it on 4th and 9, but not 4th and 1
- Get Preston Fox on the field!
- Cautiously optimistic, very cautiously optimistic
- Can we not recruit a kid to consistently kick the ball into the end zone?
- All due respect to Mathis, will CJ supplant him on the death chart this season?
- A lot of hype over Nicco, but don’t sleep on Goose. I’ve like what I’ve seen out of him between this game and the spring game. Our QB room looks too good to be true.

Also, I didn’t get too much out of our defensive effort partly bc of the trash broadcast of ESPN, but much like overall, how do you gauge a team based on a performance against Towson

Simple solution to the announcers:

1. Turn your radio/phone on to Tony
2. Sync it up to the broadcast

That is what I did yesterday. Perfect!

I worry about arm strength with Nicco. A couple of throws hung in the air a long time. I thought Greene's and Crowder's throws had zip on them. Personally, I like Greene at QB. Looks like he's got a little grit to him, and he can fly.
