Just for fun, so nobody get all bent out of shape about it, but which would have a better outlook for the upcoming season: Gabe, Taz, and McNeil minus Deuce or all three leaving, but Deuce staying? Tough question for me as Deuce is a more complete player than any of the others and his production only takes up one floor spot. The other 3 as an aggregate are better, but they take up a majority of the floor spots at any given time.
Much easier to find improvement at one position than three. Plus they brought in a transfer guard.
I was thinking more along lines of those coming that fit the bill as true defenders. Would have been nice to have Duece back. But chance at first round he's got to go. I don't like thinking the what if game. Teams change all the time and is only going to get worse every year.
They are in the 15-30 range. Just matters who is looking at the team.
I think a lot of National people are really overlooking Oklahoma State.
So going into the season there are 4 teams with rosters definitely better than WVU
WVU, OU and Tx Tech are the biggest question marks
Then TCU and K State are the teams to watch. Can end up finishing higher than some of the teams with question marks
Iowa State will be horrible

Should get into the tournament.
Oklahoma State is vastly being underrated. There are 4 teams who games against will be tough. Should get a couple of wins at home. Maybe Oklahoma State and Kansas.

Could be wrong about Oklahoma State. But as we saw. There is more talent there than just Cade Cunningham.
WVU finishes 5th.
Top half. About where they have been the last couple of years
They went 2-1 last year. One of those wins was without their two best players.
National Media is sleeping on them.
They could be at the same point they were last year. Top 10 team.
Their big Boone is a future NBA player. What he needs he can get in the weight room.
I have them 4th. Believe the Big 12 preseason poll would have them there as well.
WVU might be 5th or 6th in the preseason poll.
Still probably a NCAA team and could make a Sweet 16 run.
The Top 3 all could make Final 4 runs
Then there is Oklahoma St, Tech, OU and WVU
Maybe Huggins can have them on the top of that.
Sherman and McNeil can expand their game. Plus I think their front line could be more athletic.
Bridges or Cottrell can make massive jumps.

Pretty much like every season. Going to lose some games. Probably more than 10.
But there will be games where WVU beats a Top 10 team. Even the year they finished in last place they beat Kansas at home.
