As long as our center and right guard suck we will have no run game. But you have to look at the box. JMU played 9 in the box all game. Should have passed all day until getting them out of that box.
Defense won this game.
I would not say anyone on the team sucks right now. A lot of stuff is in their heads right now and no one out there wants to screw up. All of this happening was predictable and getting the win was 50/50 under the circumstances. I for one saw what I needed to feel good about this team and it was not the final score. I saw progress on the field and by the coaches. That has been on my wish list since Rich ran the team.
I was never a Rich fan but he knew how to coach back then and he and WVU were good together and for each other. Neal Brown reminds me a bit of a lovechild between Don and Rich and if so, I will be happy with that too.
This was a good day to be a Mountaineer and tomorrow looks even better.
James Madison is a good team. Not like we are starting with a cupcake like Tennessee this year again.
You thought so? I thought the opposite. I think JMU is much better then we let them look. I was really impressed with them and the turnovers just killed them. The sacks just stopped anything. Take those out and JMU looked great! I know, those are part of the game and it was their job to keep them from happening, but don't take anything away from JMU, they played like champions and I thought they looked good on the field.
Take away WVU missed FG and poor run game and WVU wins going away. Nothing like Game ending what if's.
JMU can look good all they want. Bottom line their 0-1.
I don't think we had a poor run game. We had no run game. The put 9 in the box and dared Jackson to pass. That is a good move by JMU considering how little experience Jackson has. But, Neal took what JMU was willing to give up after the half and the game was over.
JMU had a 7-0-3-3 box score to WVU's 0-3-7-10. After the first TD, JMU was out of the game and WVU was just getting started. The final score of 20-13 was nearly as close as it seemed. The game was bad, but WVU was not sloppy. Watched a lot of games and every looks like hell this week. Both WVU and JMU looked very good in that comparison.
Who the hell is Jackson? Kendall is the starter. Pretty sure Jackson is 4th string. WVU blew opportunities on the 3 Turnovers. JMU will not win FCS title.
