I get the Grizz homerism here...it's one of the few NBA teams in the South.
But what have I been missing about Westbrook? How/why is he a punk? Is hit tripping opponents? Is he punching nuts? Is he throwing elbows behind the refs backs? Is he personally insulting an opponent's mentally or physically disabled family member?

What is the punkyness?

but I'm not sure as to exactly why I don't like him. I think part of it is just his selfish style of basketball. The kid is a very good player so he should be getting a lot of shots, but when you have Kevin Durant on your team, KD gets the ball during crunch time. It's as simple as that, but Westbrook obviously doesn't understand this. The second thing I don't like about him is the way that he constantly tries to work the officials throughout the game. Any time that he is involved in a foul or turnover, you'll either see Westbrook with his arm around the refs or yelling at them. Either way, he is constantly talking to them and trying to swing things in his favor. I guess you can't blame him because it's resulted in some complete BS that has been called, but it's annoying. Finally, he's juts one of those guys that seems to always seems to have a way of pissing you off. During the end of game 6 with the Grizz up by 13 I believe, there were two straight plays with less than a minute left where Westbrook bear hugged one of our players to get a foul called. After clobbering Randolph and someone else, he'd then run off like he didn't do anything, but it just looked to me like he was trying to start something.

Again, I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about him I just don't like.

Wow. For all the hate I've read about him on here and all the times he has been called a punk, I really woulda figured there would be some sort of actual explanation.

If he's on the team you root for, you love him because he's good and plays with an edge. If he's on a team you don't root for, you hate him because he's good and plays with an edge.

That little smirk thing got more and more cartoonish as the series went on. I even noticed it on Serge and Perkins.

Unfortunately, yesterday Durant had the "I'm the baddest M'fer on this court and this is fun" face on.

I've been trying to put my finger on it since the series started. He reminds me of Gary Ervin with better skills. My hate for Westbrook grew as the series went on. He's just one of those players that you don't like as an opposing fan. Even some of the OKC fans aren't going to like him.

And it was quite clear to me that Westbrook had been instructed to feed the beast.
